The job was done punctually and flawlessly. Devita is extremely responsive to the customer. It was a pleasure to deal with them. I highly recommend them.

Everything went well. The project was slow to start, but that was as much us as them. Once they got going the work progressed quickly. There was a hold-up in the middle waiting for the plumber and electrician but they were very accommodating.
They did good work, went out of their way to meet with the other contractors so they could coordinate and explained everything they were doing.
But the best part is that they provided a quote up front and stuck to it! There were a few out-of-scope items as we changed some particular items but their fees were very fair. They were not inexpensive, but all of their fees were fair and I was never surprised by a bill. Not many contractors you can say that about.
All in all a success. I would certainly use them again.

I have used them before. They are very good craftsmen and they definitely take a lot of pride in what they do. They are very good about doing things in the traditionally right way which is what stands out the most about them. They are friendly and likeable. They don't take the shorts in order to get the job done but they do it the right way. They are creative and have a good candor attitude. They are reasonably priced for the quality of work that they do. I think that they are a small set up and there are only two people. They are punctual and they show up on time when they say that they are going to show up on time. The problem is that there are only two people and they are trying to make a living at this. So, they go from project to project and sometimes, you get stuck in that way. They are finishing up on one thing and they say that they show up but they actually cannot get there until the next day. Once they start working on it they are fast and they get things done but they don't have the manpower to deal with as many projects as they take on. The quality of work is exceptional but sometimes they are understaffed for the number of projects that they are doing at the same time. It is not that they say that they are going to be there at 9:00 am and show up the next day at 2:00 pm. It is more like they take on the project and say that they are going to finish it and something else happens. Their dad's best friend wants his deck to be fixed and they promised him and so, they cannot show up. They cannot hit every project as there are only two people. When they say that they are going to be there at 11:00 then they are there at 11:00 but overall, the project took longer than I would have expected because sometimes, they had to do some other things. The larger companies would have two or three crews and could send one crew over to somewhere else. It is just that they cannot be at point B when they are at point A.

Dave and Gene are really talented craftsmen, having learned the old-fashioned way from their father. The price was high, but it was 2005 qnd it was impossible to negotiate and very hard to find contractors. The work they did was almost always perfect. They did modify two pre-made door frames, and when the doors were installed, the locks and strikes did not line up. They then got a another project to build an addition to an other house, and disappeared without installing the stair hand rail even though the rail, newel posts and balusters had been delivered. They stopped returning phone calls and I did not hear from them for three months. In the meantime I had a very difficult time getting someone to install the stair handrail to get the Cedrtificate of Occupancy. We had to move in with no rail and small children, risking fines from the Town. I did eventually get another carpenter to do it, but had a lot of problems with the material the DeVitas ordered, as no two carpenters agree on how to do things. Just before the railings were to be installed, after 12 weeks the Devitas called up every day (both of them) and demanded to be paid for the railing material. I told them I would pay them once it wwas installed by others, or they could come pick it up. They continued to hassle me for the two weeks it took for the railings to go in, after which I paid for the the material. The installation was not as good as the Devita work, so I really felt these two guys were in the wrong to suddenly call me twice a day after disappearing for months.

On time, great job and great price!!

I could not be happier with the quality of work provided by Gene and Dave. Unfortunately we had some issues with bad weather and two bad subcontractors, but they handled both situations with great professionalism. I never once had to call to ask where they were or when they were coming; they were here when they said they would be every day. The actual quality of work they provided was outstanding. Gene is a fantastic carpenter who built a radiator cover and shelves that look original to the house. Dave spent hours getting the tiling just right. The result is a gorgeous bathroom that I am thrilled to have in my house. They were also great with my dog, lots of fun to talk to and were incredibly clean. I've never seen contractors be so careful about cleaning up their debris at the end of the day before; the dust was so minimal I forgot they were demolishing tile with a foot of mortar on the back. I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for a remodel or addition.
