the lock was broken open. They came and made it locked closed then came the next day to replace the unit. 
The receptionist / office manager is hard to get by and will not be very cooperative but the locksmiths are great and will stay late to get the job done.

After calling another provider and getting an estimate that was three times as much, I called Charles. He was able to do it in the same day, with no muss, no fuss. It was professional, fast, and well done. Old world charm thrown in as well. I was able to pick up the finished product before closing, although I ended up having to go the next day because of another commitment. So, at 8:00 am sharp, Charles opened the store and I walked in to pick up the locks and keys. Both times that I visited his store, I was in and out in less than ten minutes. Maybe less than five.

When I called, the person who answered the phone took detailed information from me so that the locksmith would be prepared. He also explained the pricing structure.

The locksmith arrived within the hour, immediately identified the problem and replaced the cylinder. The whole repair took less than 15 minutes. The price include parts and service.

The service was expensive, in my opinion, but I didn't shop around for price. I chose this company because of the good grades it had received. I would recommend this company based on its knowledgeable locksmith and efficient service.

UPDATE: Called on March 4, 2013 for service (The latch on that same door won't retract from the outside. I'm sure it just requires an adjustment) but I learned that the company no longer provides service outside of Greenwich, Ct., so now I am looking for a new locksmith.

I had a broken high-end, German lock that had been discontinued and was no longer available in the U.S. Calls to the distributor, and to retailers all over the U.S. proved futile. After a month of trying to find a replacement or someone who could fix the lock, I found Mr. Stuttig on Angie's List. He was creative, responsive, and unbelievably professional. He asked me to leave the lock with him as the store would be closing at 5:30 PM and it was now 5 PM. I did so and went home. At 7:30, the phone rang and it was Mr. Stuttig, still at his shop, still working on the lock. He asked me if I had another part at home that I had failed to bring, I told him I did and brought it to his shop. An hour later, I had a working lock. I couldn't be happier with my experience. He fabricated a part, fixed a broken part, and took the time to tell me the best way to reinstall the lock assembly. A++++.

Everything went smoothly and the workmen performed all work that was promised. My family has used Stuttig for approximately thirty years as their locksmiths, and I like my parents have followed suit. They are extremely professional and knowledgable and have a walk-in storefront on Greenwich Avenue.

Went well, 2nd time it took a great deal of time to order lock cylinders. I wonder if we were oversold locks (this is Greenwich) or if the pricing is competitive but they are always professional and responsive.

The job went fine. It took about an hour and half to do the work (replace and rekey 2 doors along with the deadbolts) as well as a locking interior door for my office.

Showed up when they said they would. He was able to open a door which had become hopelessly stuck due to age (old house) and humidity. Only replaced what needed to be replaced and didn't try to sell me a complete new lock. The work was meticulous and clean. Also looked at another door which had similar problems but not so bad and was able to return it to good working order in a short amount of time. The price was fair based on the time and material involved. We have used them in the past and have always been satisfied with the people sent and the work done.

WE USE THEM and RECOMMENED THEM UNTIL RECENTLY WHEN I HAD A VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE. HAD THEM INSTALL A NEW LOCK FOR A HOUSE I RECENTLY PURCHASED. ALSO BOUGHT LOCK FROM THEM. THEY DID THE WORK WHICH LATER REQUIRED ADDITIONAL WORK BECAUSE THE LOCK WAS NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY, THEN THEY SENT THE BILL TO MY OLD ADDRESS and WOULD NOT COME OUT TO FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE BILL WAS NOT PAID EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM I NEVER RECEIVED IT.

THEY WERE FRIENDLY AND BECAME CLOSE BUSINESS FRIENDS. POSITIVE EXPERIENCE. THEY HELPED US FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE IN OUR HOUSE. KNOWING THAT NO ONE WOULD BREAK IN.

I WAS NOT HERE WHEN THE LOCKSMITH ARRIVED AT MY HOME BUT MY CHILDREN WERE. I HAD NO PROBLEM HAVING MY KIDS LET THE MAN IN THE HOUSE. STUTTIG LOCKSMITHS ARE COMPLETELY RELIABLE AND HONEST. THEY WERE ABLE TO FIX MY PROBLEM EASILY AND AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. THEY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE PROFESSIONAL OR COURTEOUS!

STUTTIG CAME TO MY HOUSE ON THE MORNING THAT I CALLED TO FIX MY LOCKS. THEY DID A GREAT JOB. FINISHED IN LESS THAN AN HOUR. DIDN'T CHARGE TOO MUCH. WERE PROMPT.
