I called two services listed in the Hartford area and left messages with both. Sema Service was first to call.
Without going into all the details, suffice it to say here that this gentleman took my machine to polish the hook, which I found out afterwards when the other service, (whom I wish I had spoken with in the first place but didn't know any better) called me and when I told him that I was all set an another service has been here, he said "oh, I hope it's not Sema Service". I said yes it was.
IBasically, Sema Service is a crook who took my machine and purported to fix something that wasn't even needing fixing. He knew I was a newbie to this type of industrial sewing machine and took complete advantage of me. The other gentleman informed me that people have sued this Sema Service and he has all kinds of Better Business Bureau complaints about him. I didn't do my homework and suffered this gentleman to the tune of almost $400, and he did nothing. He even left the parts behind that he removed in my home and I had to take them out to his home in the pouring and freezing rain on that Friday evening.
So, be forewarned. Don't use this guy. Call the other sewing machine repair service and wait for him to get to you as he is the only honest guy around and his phone rings off the hook for service. He will get with you so AVOID SEMA SERVICE.
Hope this review saves someone else from his scam.
