LCP sided my house as a part of a total house renovation. Although I plan on writing an excellent review of the overall general contracting services, I wanted to start with a specific review of the siding work, because it was one of the decisions that my husband and I had the hardest time with, and I'll never forget how much Lucas helped us through it all, from helping us choose the type and style, to staying within a tight budget, to the quality of the actual work.
I'll never forget how Lucas tirelessly took my husband and I around our town to at least 15 houses to show us the various examples of siding styles and colors, as well as different materials, so that the choice wasn't so daunting. After that I felt so confident making a decision, when before I'd been indecisive.
Another thing that stands out to me is that, because our house is older, and has settled a bit, it was inevitable that there would have to be uneven areas. Lucas and his crew made it so that in a very obscure part of the house which is partially hidden by deck stairs, there is one slightly uneven piece. It's not even noticeable to anyone unless they are told. I like that Lucas was up front about this issue with our house, and that he and his crew made it look perfect anyway.
Finally, I can't say enough about the professionalism of the crew and of the principle, Lucas. Honest, professional, respectful of me and my property. All around good people.

From the start my experience with LCP was a pleasant one.  Out of the 6 or so e-mails I sent out at night to a handful of contractors on Angie's list, LCP called me first thing the next morning.  Luke, the owner, has a professional demeanor and a straightforward explanation on what options I had available to repair my kitchen ceiling.
Luke came to my house the same day we spoke on the phone.  I had a massive hole in my kitchen ceiling due
to a plumbing incident earlier in the month.  It required drywall and a repainting of the rest of the ceiling.  Luke explained what would need to be done, how long it would take and even offerred to take a look at any other issues I'd like to take a look at.
As the job progressed, Luke would routinely stop by and make sure that his men were doing a good job and made sure that the paint job didn't damage any of the kitchen cabinetry and counter tops.  As the job went on, he would check with me and my wife to make sure we were happy with the work that was being done.
Overall, my experience was a good one.  It's difficult to find contractors that get to the point.  Luke does just that.  He won't tried to upsell you or scare you into getting another job done.  He caters to your needs and financial situation.  I would recommend Luke to anyone who is looking for an honest and professional contractor.

"Thank you for your detailed review. Very few people would put the time and energy to make a good review for a small job."

There company was enlisted by the Lowes Store in Poughkeepsie NY to come to install a temporary counter top.  We had been waiting for Lowes to get our regular counter top but it was not happening.  The contractors were kind to come out and put in a temporary one for us.  When the real one came in, the contractors were called in to remove the temporary ones.  Unfortunately, they accidentally scratched the top side edge of our new insert stove when removing the item.   I did not know that a stainless appliance might have parts that would show paint underneath, but it does.

The job went as planned with many benefits Lucas provides for his customers. I was referred to him through communal friends and was happy with the outcome. I enjoyed the multi-payment plans throughout the the job. I wasn't comfortable with the half up front or thirds along the way that most contractors offered me. Lucas is always available during the project and even after the project was finished. If I have any questions during the job he was available that day or within ten minutes of getting back to me. I was new to this whole experience and Lucas was there for me along the way providing me with his knowledge throughout the whole process. It was enjoyable for me as well as my parents with this process as they too enjoyed the craftsmanship of his work and how he came across at the many meetings they had with him. My parents are soon going to call Lucas for a quote on one of their projects soon.

My dining room had two standard double-hung windows, one on each side of the corner of the room. They were covered with vertical blinds from ceiling to baseboard heat. I rarely opened the blinds or the windows due to a neighbor close on one side, and sliding glass doors on the other wall that gave me an ample view of the backyard. At first I thought about just removing the two windows, making the areas solid wall. The more I thought about my ‘wish list’ for remodeling my house, I realized I would be spending more time in the dining room after opening it to the adjoining kitchen resulting in closing the blinds on the sliding glass doors. This is when I decided on the transom window idea. Each double-hung window was replaced by 3 transom windows stacked from top to bottom. After the initial install, it did not quite look like a single window with 3 panels. After expressing this to Lucas and reviewing the picture again he removed all 6 transoms and successfully captured the concept I wanted.

I have extensive professional landscaping around my house. Lucas and the crew took special care to build barriers and have all material directed to a given area to avoid damage. I also have a driveway of cement pavers. They were thoughtful enough to place plywood under the dumpster to alleviate any damage to the driveway. I will never forget the day they started working on the roof. What started as a very nice day turned very dark in the afternoon and a violent thunderstorm came through with driving, drenching rain. The crew managed to protect the exposed piece of  roof with expert speed. We learned later that an EF1 tornado touched down in Bridgeport only a few miles away.

I encourage anyone considering a sun tunnel to proceed. I have never enjoyed something so much for such a small investment.

Lucas has the patience of a saint. It took me a long time to decide I would give up my existing radiant heat, that many previous plumbers had told me was destined to fail due to it?s age. I was not about to remodel the area then have to deal with a leaking system in the future. I also did not want to switch to electric heat for the area. Lucas gave me fair estimates for the various heating options available, including digging up the floor to replace the existing radiant system. He even took the time to investigate a new system I discovered on the web that would go on top of the cement and used hot water. The most cost effective choice was the baseboard system he installed and after experiencing this past winter, it was a good choice and does the job well.

Lucas is very knowledgeable and will explain the pros and cons of various materials. He will also steer you to where to go for good prices and selections. He is a very easy person to work with. Every time I walk into the bathroom I admire how well it looks and functions. It totally exceeded my expectations.

They were very professional. Once they were done, I indicated to my husband that we had other things that we needed to get done. I would certainly call them. Their price was reasonable. The quality of their work is good. The gutter is fine and it?s not leaking. I would use them in the future.

Lucas is the guy that owns the company and is a great friend of mine. He did one of my rehabs, but unfortunately it cost me a $100,000, but that was a total gut rehab. That?s great and that is what he is good at that, but if I just needed an apartment gutted I would want to spend more like $800. We took a beat up lighten property in New Haven on Clay Street which is in the Fair Haven section and it is notoriously known for gang behavior and bad stuff. It was next door to one of my other properties where there was sick family. It was a problem for me because I could not get insurance on it because it was all blighted up and was a drug haven, so I bought the house next door for $35,000. We were going to do a total gut rehab, but that would include taking down the natural plaster walls and if we pulled out the walls, the city of New Haven was going to force us to redo everything inside the walls from plumbing to electrical work. We rented the top floor for $1400 and the bottom for $12,000. I have to say that Lucas is extraordinarily professional and put in a quote and stuck pretty much to the quote. Any extra things that I asked after the fact he was able to accommodate with no problem. We had a heating and hot water system which was a combination of one in all which not many people tried at the time. We put two side by side and one worked and one did not, but he came back every single time there was a problem and was there within a matter of hours. It wasn?t his fault and was the manufacturing defect. He was recommended to us by the Connecticut Real Estate Investors Association people and he lived up to everything everyone said about him. His price matched his work.

They did preparation for other remodeling apart from the work in the basement. They respond to me, and they get back to me immediately. They are very reliable and very easy to work with. They are very knowledgeable about being proactive. They do what needs to be done, and they don’t cut corners.
