Bob thoroughly inspected two homes for us and was patient and knowledgeable both times.  While we tagged along with him for most of the inspection, he explained systems, what he was looking for, the condition of everything and answered all of our questions. While the real estate agents often dismissed our concerns (e.g., visible water infiltration), Bob addressed all areas of concern and gave realistic opinions about how extensive damages were and how involved repairs could be, which enabled us to make more informed decisions.  In the case of the first home inspection, we decided to pass on purchasing the home. We felt like we dodged a bullet, as many of the systems would require repairs that would have cost us a lot of money and required a lot of time. In the case of the second inspection, we purchased the home. Even though there were some issues, Bob gain helped us understand the scope of them, which was small and easily fixed. Also, we relied on Bob's detailed analysis and report to negotiate a credit for required home repairs that were not obvious to our untrained eyes.

Bob did a fantastic job with our home inspection. He was exceptionally thorough in his inspection, and his written report was outstanding as well - highly detailed, and delivered the same day as the inspection! After moving into the home and living here for a little bit, we can verify that his observations were spot-on, and that he didn't miss anything at all. Very highly recommended, would definitely work with Bob again.

As other reviewers said, Bob was there both times - even before my husband and I showed up! He got right to work, walking around the perimeter and inspecting the outside of the house. I know next to nothing about construction or homes but he explained things so I could understand. He points out everything that needs repair or attention, but puts things in perspective so you're not overwhelmed by small details. He spent a lot of time outside, looking at the roof, trees, etc.
Inside, I was blown away by how thorough he was. It was an extremely hot day the second inspection, and he spent a good 20-30 mins in the attic, making sure the wiring was okay and that everything was all right. I feel like some inspectors might have rushed up there, but he took his time. He is very responsive throughout the whole process and doesn't get annoyed when you ask questions. For instance, I had questions about switching the way one of the door opens, and he advised me on it without making me feel stupid. He is extremely professional but also just a nice guy. He never stops working the whole time he's there.
The report is the best part. Granted, this is my first home inspection experience, but my husband and I were both blown away by the depth of the report. Tons of pictures and details, stats, etc. It's really good. My father-in-law is a former construction manager and after seeing the report, he was extremely impressed. On top of that, Bob is VERY reachable. The first time I made an appointment, he answered the phone while he was in someone's attic doing an inspection and we booked right then! The second time, I emailed him and he got right back to me that night. He's also very approachable so if you have questions about the report, you can go to him.
Overall, it was a great experience. We didn't even think about going to someone else when we had to get the second inspection done. I highly recommend him.

Bob's team was extremely professional and understanding from the beginning when we were scheduling the appointment. A few things happened with the house and we had to reschedule twice and they were very understanding and helpful. We eventually scheduled a 12:30 appointment. I got there at 12:15 and Bob had already inspected the whole outside perimeter of the house and was on the roof. He was extremely thorough throughout the inspection explaining to my fiance and I what he was checking for and the condition of everything every step of the way. He worked around our schedule to come back and pick up the radon testing equipment as well as finish the inspection. I fully recommend using Cornerstone for a home inspection in the Fairfield County area.

Excellent inspection. Bob is really knowledgeable.

Excellent Service. I arrived on time but he had already been on the roof for about 1/2 hour. He spent about 4 hours with me inspecting the home. He was very knowledgable and continually pointed out observations. The next day he emailed me a 33 page inspection report with pictures he took during the inspection. The firm he used for the mold testing provided a very informative report with very useful graphs and accompanying information. Bob also provided me with some suggestions for companies that could perform needed work when I asked him. I was extremely pleased with Bob and his company, Cornerstone. I highly recommend him.

Bob was extremely knowledgeable and preformed a very thorough, detailed inspection. He was prompt and courteous.

I was very impressed with Bob. He checked the usual stuff, but also turned on every appliance, opened and shut every door and drawer, all electrical outlets. I was expecting so much less, but he really went through the whole house. In plus he's very nice and patient, explaining everything to us and clearly enjoys his work.
