They spotted a considerable defect in the first home and informed us of the problem. They emailed us and electronic report but failed to mail the paper binder as promised. When we asked they said they were "out of binders"... ok sure. Any way they told us we would receive the binder with the inspection report in the near future.
We were happy that they spotted the flaw in our original home purchase because it eventually (amongst numerous other negotiation issues) led us to find another home. We we still happy with their service so we had them come out again.

THIS TIME they failed to recognize a serious defect. The roof was leaking (we later found out) and they didn't even mention that the moisture on the wall was anything of concern. If that wasn't enough, they did not even send us a inspection report (electronic or hard copy!!). We called them numerous times and eventually gave up after weeks of pestering them.
QTNE has some construction experience and knows the basics about home construction. However their lack of communication and failure to deliver ANY inspection report is horrid.

I would never recommend them to anyone.

The two were capable, efficient, and easy to talk to. They were very approachable and continue to be available to answer questions. Before the inspection began, Eric located the septic tank and began to get ready for the septic inspection while Chip reviewed the terms of payment and showed us a sample report. He then proceeded to carry out the comprehensive home inspection, including the electrical system, roof, basement, walls, and deck. Eric began the septic tank inspection by starting the flow test and took the samples for lab tests. He then climbed into the attic and inspection the insulation while Chip walked the roof and inspected the chimney and cap. Finally, Chip inspected the heating system and together they inspected the septic (after it was drained). Quali-tech identified numerous important features that needed to be addressed and two days later the radon test revealed that the radon mitigation systems were not working. Their solid work saved me thousands.

The inspection seemed to be very thorough and we were presented with a report that easily laid out the different parts of the inspection and what he found right and wrong. Turns out there was powder post beetle damage but it was remedied earlier in the houses life (built 1900) and was not an issue. We had several concerns about the structural integrity of the garage and outbuilding and while glad the (stone) garage wasn't going anywhere we were sad that the 2 story shed had to come down. It was good to know these things so we felt like we bought the house with our eyes open to it's charm and problems. Chip was very professional and courteous, prompt to return calls, and a pleasure to do business with. I would definitely recommend him and keep his card handy in case I need him in the future.
