NATALLA ALTERATIONS

Great. I went to a place in East Longmeadow and asked how much they would charge. It was a straight stich about 2 feet long on each bed. Like sewing a pillow case straight across to make is smaller. About 1 minutes time on a machine and the thread. The pace in E Longmeadow quoted me 12.00 EACH. Are you kidding me? I walked out. I went by Natalia's, no appointment just went, and she did it for 2.00 each. Took her minutes to do. Very fair price, very quick service and she just seemed very friendly. Would take something there again in a heart beat.

The alterations were fine- price was reasonable and was ready on time. However, if I had not needed the alterations done right at that time, ( we had to have the suit altered for a funeral) I would have walked out as soon as I met the owner. I had called to check the hours of operation before even taking a chance and to see if walk in appointments were accepted. The message stated the business hours and that walk ins were fine. We arrived at the business at 10am, which was the time given on the message, as well as the business hours on a sign on the business. However there was another small sign that said- no fittings or pick ups until 11am. What other work is done at an alterations business except for alterations or pick up??? So, I waited a few minutes with another customer who had also called ahead, and who needed to have some pants hemmed. We were both greated at the door quite rudely by the owner. She implied that we were both rather stupid for not reading the sign about no alterations until 11am- but angrily told us both to go ahead and come in. When said that I had read the sign, I tried to explain that it was contradictory to both the message and the business hour signs and that I was puzzled by what business could be conducted from 10a--11a if not for fittings and pick ups and she said- "I have to have time to work on the clothes." While I can understand completely that time is needed to actually do the alterations, making customers feel stupid and that they are somehow intruding on your work time is not good customer service. As I said, I would have walked out right then if it was not so critical to have had the work done in a very short period of time. In fairness, the work done was great, which is probably more important, but I was really taken aback by her attitude. Although I answered yes that I would use this business again, am not really sure if I would go back.
