I've used Skips Septic Service since we bought our home. Always had prompt, professional service. Now we are having an issue with our drain field and need to have it inspected. They said some one would call me back to schedule. That was in March. I've called 4 times since then and it's now June. The receptionist keeps saying he's away from his desk. Guess they don't want my business, after almost 20 years.

I had used Skip's on an emergency basis two years ago and it went well, so when I had another emergency (was doing laundry, wash water overflowed into the basement when the washer drained), I called them. The first person to come out (on a Sunday) claimed he tried to snake the line, but he encountered an elbow. (There is no elbow in that line.) He claimed to be unable to remove the cap on the line in the basement, so he did not inspect the line from that end. He insisted that the tank needed to be pumped; I paid $295 for the pumping and $200 for the emergency call. Two weeks later, when I tried to do laundry, the wash water backed up again. I thought it might be a problem with the pipe, so I had my plumber come out. Turned out, he easily removed the cap to the septic line (he said, "I just got a bigger wrench"), and behold--there was everything that had not been able to pass through to the tank. I called Skip's immediately and spoke with the emergency manager; he advised me that he'd have someone out there the next day to snake the line and take photos, and there would be no charge. The next day, someone did come. He took a photo of a root ball a few feet from the tank, and he did nothing about it other than trying very hard to get me to commit to excavating and replacing that section of the line. He wouldn't go to the basement to clear the line from the house out to the tank. I asked him about cutting the roots, and he claimed it wasn't a good thing to do. Even so, he claimed to have cleared the line from the tank and said I should be fine. I wasn't. That night when I took a shower, the water again backed up. I contacted my plumber, and he gave me a couple other names of companies who could take care of the problem. I called one of them, and their guy came this morning. He took a photo (same root ball). He then went into the house, and he spent an hour clearing the line from house to tank, cutting roots and clearing clogs. Even I could tell the line hadn't been cleared by Skip's, because I watched (and smelled) much of what this guy did, and there was much more coming out of the pipe than had been flushed in two days. Whatever the second Skip's guy did, it didn't involve removing blockages from the pipe. At long last--and no thanks to Skip's--my septic line is clear. Next time, I'll be using someone else.

Skips replaced my entire septic system including the leech field. Their quote was thousands of dollars cheaper than the next lowest bid. They completed the job on time and on budget. I was very pleased with the work. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing septic service.

They alway seem to be pretty efficient and it was a good rapport. I don't know a reasonable comparison but (the price) seemed to be reasonable for what they do. I don't remember having any problems with them. I have used them several times. There are only a couple of guys I have used regularly and that is one of them.

It seems to be working as well as it always did.  The reason we got a new one was that we were told during our home inspection tht the current one wasn't big enough for a house of this size, so we got a larger one.

This is a new house for us, we used skips for the initial inspection including a video inspection. It was recommended after 1 year to pump again to figure out an appropriate schedule for pumping going forward.
The driver arrived on time and was very professional. Was more than willing to explain and answer any questions that I had considering this is a first time having to maintain a septic system.

They completed all work within 3 days and in bad weather. Very professional and high quality standard of work.  Have used Sips for years for septic maintenance on a very old system and have always been very satisfied.  Connecting to town sewer will mean little to no work in the future but very satisfied with history of working with them.  From office staff scheduling appointments to field technicians on site would highly recommend using Skips.

I was a realtor for the buyer and skips did a septic pump and inspection. They are the best in the state hands down. I have seen many different companies for home inspections and Skip's is my first call and recommendation for complete satisfaction.
