The owner, John Petrillo, is an old-school pro. This was an insurance claim job, but we hope to hire him again this year for another large (non-insurance claim) project.

Do not hire. The flooring job was horrible. Kitchen was done 3 years ago and within 1 year all tiles are cracked and grout falling out. And wood flooring is separated in multiple places. Stair nose is tilting down. Hurry to get money then u won't hear again if issues.

He did a great job quickly without breaking the bank and his estimate was spot on

John is the single best communicator of any contractor we have worked within the last 30 years, including multiple additions and major renovation projects. That great communication would be reason enough to recommend him, but John goes above and beyond to make sure everything he said he would do get done as and when he said it would be done. For that, we are very grateful. Specifically for our Guilford, CT finished basement renovation project, John started demolition on a Saturday because we were on a short time frame to get the work done in time to list the house for sale in early September. He said it would take 2 - 3 weeks and it took 2 weeks and 2 days. he said he would keep us updated and he called and/or texted every day as to what was going on. And the finished work was exactly as was promised in terms of fit, finish, and quality. J and Ps price was fair for the scope of work, the time constraints for getting it done, and the quality of the finished project. We would certainly hire J and P again and highly recommend them to you!

John and his associates are incredibly talented craftsmen. We started out hiring them for a bathroom renovation and upgrade as we were preparing the house for sale. John's choices for the layout and product choices were perfect. it was an old house and they uncovered some plumbing and carpentry problems along the way which they corrected without hesitation. The workmanship was superb and the project was completed quickly and efficiently. while completing the bathroom project, we mentioned that we wanted the entire interior painted and re-carpeted. he said he had resources to do this and we hired him for those projects as well. we were so pleased with the bathroom, there was no need to go elsewhere. They were hardworking, courteous, and neat and assisted us with other aspects of prepping the house for sale.

Due to Bat issue I needed to have a kitchen door installed to seal off basement. I called J&P Restoration. John called me back shortly. He said he could get door and install it at an agreed upon date. John called day of service to say they were coming. He came with his repair staff (Bill and Peter) on time and they installed the door. John went to extra effort to get us a door with window panes. Door looks great. They exceeded my expectations as I knew they would. They had remodeled our bathroom prior and did an excelkent job. The thing I like about John is that he listens to his customers needs then brings in his expertise to create a great solution.

All of the staff from J&P Restorations were excellent, friendly, extremely punctual, trustworthy and very meticulous about the quality of their work! We felt like John was a member of our family . He showed up on time and kept in touch with us through out the project.

Did not confer with homeowner about project details. Told us wood would be wrapped with vinyl but only wrapped certain areas, leaving the trex deck looking unfinished and refused to plug trex screw holes. Finish work is on the shabby side!

Trustworthy, professional and reliable! Those are but a few words to describe my experience hiring John Petrillo for my deck house project. I stumbled across HomeAdvisor while researching contractors and they recommended J&P Restoration for my project. I called John to discuss my project; to build a screened-in deck house over my existing deck. From that first phone call to the last day on the job I was thoroughly impressed with the work ethics of John’s crew. These men worked flawless together, the framing crew was especially skilled and quite a joy to watch at their craft. What really impressed me about John was his “word”. Everything along the process from the estimate to completion was spot-on and he always showed-up! Not to mention he would always call to update me for any changes or progress that we may have discussed during the project. I can’t stress enough how reassuring this was. John was also very fair and reasonable with his estimate. While I’m not one to write reviews, I felt compelled to and with the notion that he and all his guys – especially his framer John, deserved it to say the least. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and my wife and I are very happy with the outcome.

John and his subs were careful and skilled. Each worker left the place clean and tidy when leaving. The project took longer than I had hoped, but the results were very good. I would hire J&R again.
