He was able to find the leak and repair it and is now going to finish the rest of my bathroom. I wanted to put in the fancy tub with jets and he looked at all the safety issues involved for what I wanted and gave me a professional opinion on what would be needed. He was honest and up front about my safety and well being.

Ted knows about old houses. He was responsive to our scheduling needs and got the job done as quickly as he good, given that we had to select and order new flooring and have it installed before he could finish the job and replace the fixtures.

Ted really bent over backwards to accommodate us on an incredibly busy day. Our job involved an inspection of plumbing in a home we are trying to close on. In the grand scheme of things, while the job was urgent to us, this is not a priority job for a professional who is trying to keep their customers warm on a freezing cold day in a New England winter. Despite the low urgency, Ted made it to our job and gave us the information we needed to keep negotiations going. It really moved us how dedicated he was to fitting us in. The price he charged was so much more than reasonable considering the six other plumbers we called wanted to charge us nearly as much only to get them to commit to get to the job in a day or two (or a week!). He thoroughly inspected all of the points on our inspection list and gave a verbal estimate in 40 minutes; in addition, he made himself available to the current owner within 24 hours to fix an issue that could have caused big problems for him. He really worked a minor professional miracle and earned himself a loyal, brand new customer. We are buying a home, not 100% sure which home we'll be buying at this point, but when we need a plumber we'll be calling Ted. We also bought him a Christmas gift that I will be hand delivering. Having been using Teds for years and had never had an issue until recently. While his prices are higher than average, we trusted his work and expertise. We had a leak from a sink that was discovered during the home inspection of our 1920s home. Because the house was under a home warranty, the sellers used the company's Plumber to do the repair. I had Ted come out prior to closing a wall opened in order to repair the leak. He told me at that time that the repair was acceptable and the wall was closed. Over the years the sink drain became slower and slower until ultimately it stopped draining. One of Teds plumbers came out to unclog sink. This plumber was unable to do so and in the process spattered rust all over our bathroom. Shocked at the extent of damage, I called the office to report the problem and was told it would be passed on to Ted, which it never was. We ultimately had to reopen the wall to replace the pipe where the clog was and replace the sink. We had several conversations about the scope of worked that needed to be done. We were charged double the labor because 2 plumbers came to do the job, something never discussed or agreed upon. When I called to voice my concerns over the high bill and to follow up with my previous complaint about ruining several items in the bathroom, a rude and confrontational billing person took my call and proceeded to argue with me about the service performed. I ultimately spoke to Ted who back peddled on our original conversation during the home inspection saying he knew the original repair was a problem and blamed me for not knowing that the work his plumber attempted this time during the first visit wouldn't work. This was likely to justify his high fees. I'd have to say that overall his customer service is lacking and workmanship is sloppy. Because of this, I can no longer recommend his services.

I called Ted's a few days out with a request to purchase a new garbage disposal and replace the old one that had finally broken after 25 years.  I looked up the cost of the disposal in advance to find it was approximately $350.  We scheduled a morning appointment for a few days later.  They called early that morning to let me know they would be a couple of hours late which was fine with me.  The plumber showed up when they said he would and he was done with the replacement in about 30 minutes.  Since then it has been running great; I have no complaints.

Excellent response. Technician arrived promptly and corrected numerous issues including the repair of a blocked evaporater section, reconnection of breaks in the ducting and an extensive burner tune up followed by a careful clean up. all of which took almost a full day to complete and required the partial breakdown and rebuild of the furnace. The charges were fully detailed and in my opinion, very fair. The final point is that the system now works well.

It was not an emergency, so I got the day and time I wanted. The provider showed up on time. As always, the plumber sent out was very knowledgeable and personable. He got right to work and got it done.
I have been using Ted's since the 80's and they have always done a great job. They re-did a kitchen and 2 bath's for me, as well as taking care of many clogs and overflows, and even fixed the A/C. It's good to have a plumber you can trust!

Awesome. Ted is our new best friend. Seriously, work is all excellent, service is above what is required, price is competitive. Frankly, the only reason I'd hire another plumber is if Ted was too busy.

The service tech was very curteous and properly cleaned the furnace that was allegedly done by another company 06/25. Admittedly, the furnace had not been cleaned for approximately 6 years. I explained that the previous tech told me that the house would blow up if I used the furnace afer he cleaned it. I showed him the two parts that the tech told me needed to be replaced and that I should seriously consider purchasing a new furnace. Ted's tech spent three hours actually cleaning the furnace and replaced the flue chute that had a large hole burned though it. He showed me the filter that clearly had not been cleaned by the previous tech and explained that the black smoke coming from the furnace when he turned it on was because it had not been cleaned in several years. Ted's tech also confirmed that the 2 parts I was told had to be replaced were in fine working order and confirmed the date stamped on both were original to the furnace put in 14 years prior. I was very impressed with Ted's and have subsequently referred them to others. Tech was prompt, polite and took the time to explain and show me what was done. I plan on using them whenever a plumbing situation arises. Thanks Angies' list!!!

My experience with them went well. They did an excellent work. They are on time, efficient, pleasant, and they do quality work.

They did a beautiful job, were prompt, professional, cleaned up well and were timely.

They arrived when promised and worked until complete. The length of time to complete the job was consistent with the estimate. Clean professional and excellent job!

The crew involved was fantastic. They quickly removed the old boiler and efficiently replaced it with a new one that has performed better than I hoped. The process was complicated, but they finished in the period projected (2 and 1/2 days).

The leak created a crater-size hole in the crawlspace. He determined where the leak was coming from and did the repairs. There was also an odor downstairs and he figured out that the toilet in the downstairs bath was not properly sealed to the floor. They also re-configured the washing machine so it no longer empties into the sink, but is directed outside. They are very thorough and were responsive.
