The East Hartford depot covers all of Hartford, Litchfield, Middlesex, New London, Tolland and Windham counties. Petro also has depot locations in Brookfield, Canton, North Haven and Norwalk. Their pricing was similar to other oil delivery companies in the area. It varies up and down sometimes they are better, sometimes are worse. I found it useful to switch and I have been using them for probably about 12 years now. The staff seem pretty knowledgeable about my furnace and always give me a good run down and spent some time and making sure everything is done well and then they do an adequate job. They have been responsive. I probably would continue to use them.

They did come out and do a cleaning on the oil burner about months before that. The cleaning is free with a service contract along with a periodic maintenance. The price was good.

I have an annual contract and the automatic filling works great. My only complaint is the skyrocketing cost of the annual contract. It also includes annual checkup of the heating system.

Petro Inc. are not the least expensive around. I could find lower priced oil elsewhere, but their service is super. I recently had a problem with my water heater and they came out to fix it the same day.

They are a very big oil delivery and service company. They are actually very, very, reliable. I've been with them for a very long time and you can always count on them. The demeanor of the staff is excellent. We had Hurricane Sandy last October and there was a lot of damage in this area. My oil burner and hot water heater were submerged and since they were my oil company they replaced it. They are always there when you need them. I've used them forever and I will continue to use them.

They have a contract where they would offer us a deal to cap the price of oil. Even though the prices go up I do not get affected, and in the long run I will be saved. Many times it has gone over the capped price, but I have only paid the capped price. I think that's a good feature that they have. They are very responsive. If something goes wrong and we need to be serviced they would come out and fix it. They are always pleasant and easy to deal with. I trust their knowledge, and I am pleased with their service. I think there was once a leak in the oil tank, and they checked the valves and fixed it. They told me that it would not burn because evidently oil needed high temperatures to burn. They went out of their way to put a little bit of oil in a bucket and tried to ignite it with a match and make me understand. They really went above and beyond the call of duty. I thought that was great. They are trained and they have taken courses related to their work. They do their job well, and I have always been pleased with them. I don't pay them anything when they come out because I have a contract with them. I have already paid them for a year. They provide 24-hour service and come out whenever I need them.

Although no one is happy with having to replace a boiler, which is a very expensive piece of equipment, Petro made it as painless as possible from a service perspective (my husband and I were so impressed by the prompt service call at 2:30 AM in the morning), and also from being extremely speedy with scheduling installation of the new boiler, as we are expecting a heavy snow storm tomorrow and I have two young children in the house. I believe the price of my boiler was not as high as some of the others listed on this review b/c my house is relatively small (1740 sq feet); and I know I can probably get a replacement for slightly cheaper, but these things are investments in the house and with Petro providing the equipment and servicing at the same time, I have peace of mind knowing I can call them ANYTIME and they will come and fix the problem if anything ever were to go wrong again. We were also very happy with the installation team, who tried hard to clean up after themselves and even sweeped up the utility room before installing the new equipment. They worked straight through lunch to try to install everything as quickly as possible and that was really above and beyond.
