OUR HOUSE PAINTING & RENOVATIO

This contractor was a recommendation from a close friend so I was confident at hiring him. Todd was very pleasant at first when we met and he had assured me he could perform all the items on my list. However, after I hired him and the work began, I felt like several items we had previously discussed, became an issue. It felt like the old game of bait and switch. Each time I asked or remained him of something, he in turn conveyed doubt about being able to do it or he discouraged me from doing it. This was all after he previously told me he knew how and could do them with no problem i.e., installing niche box, installing bath caddies and towel bar in shower, removing the vanity, which ultimately he did after I insisted, however he pulled it off the wall and left two big 8 inch holes in the wall and didn't fill them. The contract included all those items that he didn't perform and they were NOT deducted: yet when I added 1 project it was added to the final invoice! The tile job was just okay; it had uneven grout spacing; some tiles were not level and he did a messy spackle job near the ceiling and crown moulding. All of the above was bad enough but the worst was when he dropped a good size piece of tile down the toilet opening and finished the job WITHOUT DISCLOSING THIS TO ME!!!! Instead he told the plumber who was coming to reinstall the toilet; the plumber couldn't retreive the tile and informed Todd. Todd returned the next day and tried to get the tile himself but couldn't; he then kept blaming the plumber for pushing the tile down the pipe further. I insisted he call a drain company to rectify this problem which he did but they also couldn't retreive the tile and said it would be a few months before I would know if it's going to back up the pipes. Overall this experience was so disappointing and unnerving and has caused a lot of anxiety as it still remains to be seen if I'm going to have major plumbing problems. Needless to say I cannot recommend this contractor!
