He listened to our desire to stick to a budget, and took time to share his ideas on how we could tweak our desired design and stay within the budget. Both Steve and his son Josh showed up on time on the first day (and everyday of the project) and got right to work. They took time to cover the floors before starting the demo, and also took time to clean up after themselves every day. Steve was upfront and very thoughtful in every step of the job. He took time talk through changes and was great at offering pragmatic solutions to interesting challenges. Their work was precise, well planned, and well executed. Our bathroom looked like it came out of a magazine. Steve and Josh are honest, forthright, respectful, hardworking and very good at what they do. I would definitely work with them again and recommend them to others.

Steve and josh were great. Showed up everyday at 8:30 and worked full days. Unlike some people we have hired in the past that show up late and leave multiple times per day. We hired someone else previously and after 5 weeks had to fire them and start over. Cornerstone got it done in 3.5 days and we’re meticulous.

We chose Cornerstone based on the great work Steve Ericksen did converting our 16'x16' deck into a screen porch. Steve arrived early, was ready to get started when we arrived at the property. He took tons of notes and photos, gave a running commentary as he inspected, pointed out easy fixes, expensive and complicated options. In the end, his discouragingly realistic estimate saved us from bidding on a money pit. His fee for the consultation was well worth it!

Steve was quick to respond and assess the job. He was honest and very transparent with the expectations from the job. I immediately liked that I found someone I felt I could trust. He presented me with the most conservative option and pricing to fit my budget. As the work progressed and unforeseen obstacles arose he discussed with me every detail of what was needed. The end product is a beautiful master shower. I would definitely recommend his services and plan to use him on future projects.

I had been looking to get my bathroom remodeled and some ceiling work done, and when I asked some friends if they knew any good contractors they recommended Steve to me. I gave him a call and he actually came out that same day to check out my bathroom, get some ideas for what would need to be done, and give me an estimate. Steve was great to work with. He was professional, pleasant, knowledgeable, and paid great attention to detail, definitely going above and beyond what I expected. I have already recommended him to others and would happily hire him again for future projects.

First time employing Steve and would not hesitate to do so again. We initially got estimates from two other contractors for a couple of relatively modest exterior home repair jobs- replacing our rotting french door to our deck and repair of exterior wood trim that was peeling and/or rotting. As always, it was a constant battle trying to get the contractors to call back, show up, or respond in any manner. We are so glad we found Steve and Cornerstone Home Improvement. His responses were immediate, his followup totally professional, and the quality of his work and his work ethic unimpeachable. If you want someone to do what they say they are going to do, show up when they say they are going to show up, work with you in an intelligent manner to plan and strategize about the most appropriate repair method, and then execute the job in a clean and competent manner that sticks to the agreed budget then Steve is the guy for you. I have a hard time recommending him highly enough. Not sure why it took 25 years living here and working with idiots before we latched onto him.

We have used Cornerstone Home Improvement for work with two of our houses so far. Both times, we have received great service and the work done was thorough and professional. Regularly communicates with updates, changes or additional things that are needed - Cornerstone does not cut corners or leave a problem to be discovered months/years later like some other contractors do. Steve starts work and stays until the job is finished, is reliable and punctual. We will be using them for our next project.

Steve gave a detailed estimate and timeline for job completion. All work was completed as scheduled. This work was done for my elderly mom, and Steve was patient and kind and answered all her questions and concerns. I understand from her that he also came back to do a smaller job that she noticed during the course of the original project. All in all, she was very satisfied with the outcome.

Mr. Ericksen responded quickly to the original contract requesting bid Gave options how best to do repairs for cost effectiveness. Worked with my budget and started and finished the job when he said he would., he also moved and replace furniture as requested, cleaned up after ;job. I left a message after hours and received a call back the next day. Steve came to my home a few days later to give me an estimate. Although the estimate was a little higher than I expected, I still hired Steve based on the positive reviews and his pleasant demeanor. Steve replaced my door in one day. He came back a few days later to replace the trim and prime. A few days later he finished with painting and caulking. Steve had the job completed within a week. Steve was very professional. He did an excellent job, was on time and is a very pleasant person to speak with. I'd definitely hire him again.

Steve is an exemplary contractor - professional, detail-oriented, and punctual. He answered his phone over a holiday weekend, provided an estimate the following day, and completed the job the next day. In addition to providing quality work and craftsmanship, Steve is knowledgeable, thoughtful, and experienced in many aspects of home improvement. I would definitely hire him again for other work.

My husband and I just had our bathroom completely remodeled by Cornerstone. He also added a tiled backsplash to our kitchen. Both areas came out fabulous, Steve is so talented. With older houses, there are always issues that pop up. Steve was able to resolve every problem quickly and effectively. We are extremely pleased with how the bathroom and backsplash came out. We will definitely use him again and would highly recommend him.

Remodeled/replaced woodwork outside home, replaced drywall indoors, replaced an outside door and fixed/replaced damaged woodwork in the family room. He sourced and purchased all the materials needed, consulting me on costs and colors to my taste. This was about three weeks worth of work.

He charged $400 to do the ceiling plus &50 for hiring a glass company for window repair. He was very professional and personable, on time and did a great job. I would definitely hire him again and highly recommend him.

Workmanship and performance was excellent. They showed up when they said they would. They performed all the work necessary to our liking. All materials were pre selected by us which caused some delays but that was due to the mfg. we picked out and not the contractor.
Workers were polite and courteous and showed us a few changes for the better we were not aware of when we first started designing the bathroom.
They were very neat and always cleaned up before they left for the day.
Our dog loved them.

He gave us an accurate estimate and was easy to contact with email or texting. He was polite and professional in all interactions. He was helpful in guiding us to resources as well as suggestions for the shower renovation. He was flexible in substitutions or adjustments to planned work. When we contracted with him, he was honest and accurate about a starting date. He was always on time. His attention to detail was remarkable and the final results show that. His plumber was also hard working and detailed. His son helped him with the boot and one day of the renovation. And his son was also hard working. He was finished with the job in less than one week. He devoted himself to this job and did not run back and forth to other jobs as other contractors have done. He spent nearly an entire day cleaning up. In fact, during the entire process he was careful to cover entrance/exit ways and removed all debris (no nails in the tires from the driveway!). We did not have a layer of sanding powder everywhere, either! We would not hesitate to hire him again in the future.

Everything went great. We found Cornerstone, owned by Steve Erickson, on Angie's List with all positive reviews. Our first project for him was to install picture railings throughout our home (a thin railing near the ceiling from which pictures are hung). Steve's work was precise and exacting, and he was very easy to work with. We were very pleased.
When it came time to build the porch, we gave Steve photographs of the porch that our friends had built in another state that we liked very much. He designed the project, working out with us exactly what we wanted and didn't want. He has a positive working relationship with the building inspector of our town, and brought him out to review the proposed project, and obtained a building permit. He built the porch with the help of 2-3 other people (another builder and some assistants), but Steve was always on the job and was always the one in touch with us. He had the building inspector come back out and obtained the certificate of occupancy.
We love our porch. We're out there constantly. Before the porch was built, when it was still a deck, we didn't use it much because my husband is allergic to certain flying insects and because, without a roof, the sun would be just too hot for us. Now, we're out there all the time. It's everything we wanted it to be.
We were also very pleased that he stayed on budget!

Went very well. All meetings with Mr. Erickson were pleasant and productive. He was flexible about time. On the day he performed the work, we left Mr. Erickson a key, and when we came back, we found that after he finished the job he'd vacuumed our garage. Seems like a decent guy, too.

What I got was an experienced craftsman and a perfectionist.
I got a detailed contract = good, know what to expect.
