His services are great. He is very responsive. The only reason that I am not going to give him a 5 star is because he is not up to date with newer HVAC products. He is still good with his job.

We used to use Kevin Johnson for our heating problems at our previous residence. Our furnace had some issues and always shut down when the outside temp was extremely low. Kevin initially seemed trustworthy and able to deal with the problem and showed up each time to get the furnace started. He also made it clear that our problems were caused by the outside oil tank being full of sediment and the oil line freezing when the weather became too cold. He always managed to get the furnace started but at the same time repeatedly told us the only permanent solution was to replace the furnace and move the oil tank inside. Of course, he could "give us a deal" and do the work himself. We simply did not have the money. One morning we again woke to no heat and our kids crying from the cold. We called Kevin who said he couldn't do anything else for our furnace and he didn't have time to come out yet again. We were surprised at his change in attitude and called another company who not only responded quickly but also PERMANENTLY FIXED the problems Kevin insisted couldn't be fixed. It turned out all we needed was an additive to the oil tank to break down the sediment and a heater on the oil line to prevent it freezing. Our new heating repair company fixed the problem quickly and at a much lower cost than replacing everything. Needless to say, we never called Kevin Johnson again and would not even consider hiring him for future issues. He does come across as very down to earth and honest, but he either took advantage of our lack of experience to try to convince us to replace our furnace and oil tank OR he is so ignorant of his own trade that he didn't know how to fix our problems. Either scenario is unacceptable.

As with all our projects I researched contractors and then asked five firms on our short list to come out and look the job over and offer an estimate. Our requirements were a higher efficiency furnace than we previously had, possibly being able to qualify for a state run rebate program for heating and cooling devices and revising the furnace orientation to make it easier to service. After all the contractors had come and gone and their estimates were in we chose Kevin Johnson Enterprises out of Durham, CT. Kevin was the only contractor that was on time for our initial appointment (in fact he was 15 minutes early, he sat in his truck in our drive patiently until the appointment time, before he rang the bell!) he is personable, down to earth, very professional, his price was very competitive and was the only contractor that offered a furnace install the netted us the maximum rebate offer by the state, meaning his solution was the most efficient! On install day he and his crew showed up on time, removed the furnace, received delivery of the new unit, installed it in our basement (including the reorientation for easier service). When they were done you could not even tell they were ever on the property except for the gleaming new furnace, he and his crew were very respectful of our property! We have had Kevin service the furnace ever since the install and also do the service work on our Central Air unit. We have been just as happy with his service work as we were with his contracting skills. We have recommended Kevin to many of our friends and acquaintances and have always received thanks and positive feedback from their experiences too! To date the furnace has been trouble free, our oil consumption lessened, all in all a great experience. Highly recommended!

He was thorough and efficient. He was priced right and knowledgeable. He was very good.
