I was quoted a price of $75 to clean my chimney. I told them when I made the appointment that there was a diy brush stuck, but that it would slide out easily when pushed. When the technician came, he said there was a $250 charge to push the brush out. It literally took him 5 minutes to remove it. He finished sweeping the chimney and very little ash (I burn anthracite) came out, as I had it cleaned already. The brush simply became detached while I was removing it from the chimney. He knew I was over a barrel because I jad no heat or hot water. So he added the charge as a "gotcha." He also lied and said that brick is gas permeable so he had to fail the chimney on inspection. He said its against code not to install a liner. That is a lie as well. I checked the code and there is no requirement. They gave me an estimate of $4100+ to do the install of a 40' liner. My chimney is only 30'. So it is my opinion that they are a shady compnay at best. I would advise against hiring them.
Response from Shamrock C & C, Inc
"Hi Mr [Member Name Removed], We are sorry you are not happy with your experience. There is a new code stating that all homes in Easton Township stating that all unlined chimney's must be lined with stainless steel linings. https://ecode360.com/9641786. The recommendation of the technician was correct. Further more many companies in the area are charging $199-$500 for just a cleaning not including a blockage. Again I am sorry you were not happy. The price you were given is below industry standard."

Scheduling wasn’t particularly smooth the first appointment was missed and I had to drive 150 mile round trip again for the second appointment. In their favor, they did notify me that they wouldn’t make it and rescheduled. Both the estimating and installation crews were outstanding (knowledgeable and professional), resulting in the overall good rating. I plan to hire Shamrock chimney again for annual cleanings.

Do not use, they left our house a mess. One of the bits smell of pot and they poorly out our bricks back on the side of the fireplace. The roof access is a mess as well.

July I hired Shamrock chimney to fix chimney. The company kept cancelling & rescheduling but finally came out. The technician was Frank & wife. They said the chimney needed to be relined, a cap replaced on the top, They returned the next Saturday (late) & supposedly put in a liner & fixed the basement connection by switching to a new hole. Slathered that with concrete, wall and supposedly replaced the cap on top of the chimney which they glued to the roof & ruined the new roof job, shingles off, concrete everywhere. Not only that but it seems that they only put a top piece in liner in and skipped putting a whole liner in which is a common grift according to the chimney people that came & inspected everything. However it was nothing you could see or know as a regular person so I called them back to do my wood stove. They dodge calls & cancelled appts for two weeks until the finally showed up at 5:30pm on drugs. High, so bad that their blue eyes glowed because of the red ring around the Iris. told me they had a hard day due to van breaking down promised ok to work. called my neighbors over cause don’t trust them. Neighbor looked at their work and stated there was no liner in the chimney. Frank gets defensive. My neighbor points out liner they are using for woodstove won’t last. Come to find out it was a cheap dryer tubing. Crunchable. They squished the tubes into each other. Affixed to wall. Can longer use chimney. covered with concrete so you can’t tell. Big hole in back per fire chief. They were in my house till 3am. Frank left his phone. when I opened the door to give it to him he had only Boxers on. His wife was asleep in car. I ended up having to work & lift the wood stove myself 7 times (cancer patient with a heart issue) dropped his wife’s phone that he used for a flashlight down chimney. Destroyed wood pile. Left trash. Wife left dirty tampon in yard. Concrete destroyed floors, tables, door yard. No cover. Wood stove doesn’t work. Rain coming down chimney. Desired settlement:

AVOID THIS COMPANY!! They engage in VERY SHADY business practices and do ABSOLUTELY LOUSY work. I'm embarrassed to say I got scammed by them to the tuned of $4,500. I don’t want others to suffer the same, especially elderly in Maine and NH who live on fixed incomes and can ill afford to be scammed in the way I was. Their work was lousy and they refused throughout to fix or even acknowledge the painfully obvious issues I raised with them. When I finally threatened to withhold payment until they did what I was asking of them, one of the two-man crew stated, very Tony Soprano-like, something very close to, "You really don't know who you're dealing with. You don't want to mess with these people." "These people"? In the end, the job was done not in the least to my satisfaction. The crew leader, Albin from Stamford, CT, said to text him the following week, and he'd see if they might be able to come out to address some of the issues I had with their work. I texted him four times over the ensuing three weeks and got zero replies. I was originally promised a 20-year warranty on the work. When Albin wrote the revised work order up, he included a 10-year warranty. When I said I was promised 20 years, he simply crossed out the 10 and inserted 20, saying, "There. Are you happy?" Ten years or 20 doesn't matter, as I knew fully well, at that point, that their warranty is absolutely worthless. While setting the job up, I had no problem calling their office. Now that the work is “done,” every time I call, I get voice mail and my calls have never been returned. PLEASE LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE AND AVOID SHAMROCK C & C AND GETTING SCAMMED BY THEM THE WAY I DID!

On 7/27/23 -the Contractor - Shamrock C & C (phone#888 -737-0903, Patchogue NY) appeared at my home to clean the fireplace for $75. The workers -Evan & Chuck claimed that creosote is present and a fire hazard. The cost of chemical removal was $650. They also advised that the chimney bricks, crown, and other items were in disrepair and needed re-bricking & waterproofing. I authorized the work for a total cost of $1500. Plastic garbage bags were wrapped around the top of the chimney while the concrete dried. Plastic garbage bags were also placed around the chimney bricks. Evan & Chuck were to return after the concrete dried. Despite numerous calls, texts, and certified letter, I have been ignored. To date, Aug 24, the garbage bags and splattered concrete residue remain an eyesore. The house is 2 stories and the chimney can be seen by the neighborhood. A fire inspector advised against disturbing the job for inspection until it's completed or ripe for litigation because Shamrock will claim any ill repaired work was created during the inspection. Moreover, it is unknown if the work was actually completed or done in good workmanship because it is covered by the plastic bags. Nevertheless, the inspector did comment on the concrete work that is visible. He deemed the concrete thin layered and will probably crack in the winter. Also, on rainy days, I smell the creosote inside my home. This complaint is another "good faith" attempt to avoid litigation and resolve the matter.

This is the worst service provider of any kind I’ve ever hired. They are dishonest and unreliable. I regret not listening to all of the other poor reviews.

they came to do the service, and then there's a blue stone in front of the fire place and then i said to clean it, and then i checked the family room, and it was a like ash and the vacuum is broken, and then it created a lot of dust everywhere in our room, and then tried to contact them on monday and asked me to send the pictures and videos and never called back, and then other person answered and then told me that they will call me back, and then yesterday i called them again and they told me that someone will call me again and then today i called them again and the guy told me that they will not charge me anything but i need to clean it.

He came like three times. He did such a mess in my blower room. He did not completed the fixed the job so I needed to hire a plumber. I payed 4500dollars. So, I called him that he should be the one who will pay the plumber. But, he didn't. This guy should not be on the list. I look at on the better business bureau and they have a F review, I wanted out that his not good He did a poor job. And I would not recommend him.

Those guys were amazing to see work. Evan is very good at at his craft. I had reached out to other companies, and these guys were very empathetic, friendly, knowledgable, workhorses, and understanding... they made sure our chimney was safe from water, gases, and in good condition to enjoy it for a long time during winter months. Thank you so much Evan and Tommy. Cheers!

I hired Shamrock Chimney for brick pointing. It became clear that they weren’t actually brick pointing, just doing cosmetic work that wouldn’t last long. I asked them what was going on and it turned out they didn’t even have the necessary tools with them. I asked them to leave immediately and said we could discuss any partial payment once I assessed the damage. I stupidly left the property before they did and later found out (several ways) that they poured the acid they had with them into my oil tank. They sabotaged the whole system! They are criminals! I filed a police report of course, and spoke to my insurance company and the Better Business Bureau.

They called and scheduled an appointment for a free estimate. Once arrived, they pushed hard for an immediate repair. They patched places where bricks fell out and rubber painted the flashing. They charged me $2000+ for that one-man, two-hour job. The chimney looks horrible now with all the gray patches. And 5-6 months after the job, many of the patches have already fallen to the roof! I contacted Angi's through member care chat. The second I provided my email and phone number, the agent ended the chat! Don't hire this company for your chimney job! Be skeptical about the great reviews on Angi's as well.

Decided to have work done today after 'Patrick' provided bottom line price which was very favorable. Work commenced immediately & was done within 2.5 hours. Cleanup also was accomplished at the site of the work. Pleased with the final job. Would hire again for this type of work.
