They were absolutely excellent!  They came out the day after I called.  The gentleman worked diligently in a very small space.  He was very detailed and cleaned up all of his mess when finished.  He was also very knowledgeable and advised me to call if I needed anything. I would highly recommend them to others as well as use again when needed.

I found him from the phone book, then I found him on Angie's List too and it was a really good find. This company did not keep me hanging. They did not keep me waiting. I have been using them ever since for my plumbing needs. Any time I have a problem they have been just great. They have replaced my hot water tank all the way to a pin hole leak. They always do a good job. The workman are always neat. They are also very polite. Also I would like to mention that when I had to replace my hot water heater and the job they did was accomplished on the same day! The owner came out, recommended to get a larger water heater, and he had it ordered that day. There was no mess with the installation either. I wished Angie's List would let me give them an A+.

Have used Salvatore Plumbing for years. When we moved to a new house and needed a better water heating system Paul (owner) Salvatore gave us great straightforward advice. He installed our selected system with no hassles, was on time and totally professional. We have also used him for simple things like clogged drains and he showed us how to take the pipes apart so the next time we could do it ourselves. He does not try to sell stuff that is not necessary and will give advice to try to save money. Thanks Paul!

Called Paul Salvatore as his company handles the plumbing needs of our condo association in Ridgefield. The shower stall mixer valve was very difficult to operate and temperature varied greatly. The original valve was likely 30 years old or more. Also, we had a cosmetic funtional problem with the mixer valve in the 2nd bathroom as well. They came ou and prompt diagnosed the problems and worked very hard to remove the mixers (which was not easy) due to lime and rust buildup. They had to resort to using a Sawzall in the 2nd bathroom. They did not give up on the job and work hard to fix everything. They cleaned up nicely and everything looks and works great. We are very pleased.

Their price was reasonable. The work quality was good, except that they neglected to install a required venting device in the bath. We didn't discover this until the walls were sheet rocked. In order to install the vent device, they cut a very rough, uneven hole in a wall, and left it for us to deal with. Also, they and quot;removedand quot; several pieces of copper pipe from my property without my permission. When I brought this to the owner's attention, he apologized and promised to return the pipe, but never did.
UPDATE: The copper was returned to my home in August 2012.

I am more than pleased that I chose Salvatore Plumbing for the job.

I called the company and explained that the heater bottom was leaking.
When I called I already done my research and knew that when the heater bottom leaks this means the tank has corroded and most likely the heater needs replacement.
We agreed on the price and the time.

The installer (Mike) arrived on time as promised.
Clean van, respectful manners.
He did not mind me asking lots of silly questions and watching him work.
He flushed, disconnected and hauled away old and installed new heater.
He even insulated the pipes with what was on the old pipes !
Very professional.
They got my business now.

We had a great experience with Salvatore's. First off, I made the appt for a Friday and had to work from home - they specifically moved their appt schedule around for me that day, so they would arrive in between my work calls, which was much more convenient for me. We originally called for an unidentified leak under our kitchen sink - after some testing, they couldn't seem to find the specific issue (we couldnt either, there were no pipes leaking, etc), but they caulked the edge of the sink. We've noticed a few small additional leaks since, but overall, it is greatly improved so the seal seems to have helped. While they were at our house, I asked them to check a few other things, like the washer/dryer valves and some corroded pipes coming out of our hot water heater (which was noticed at our home inspection a few months before). They replaced both on the spot. And while they were there, they gave me a few ideas/approx costs for some bathroom work we've been considering. It cost a little more than expected, but that was just b/c they spent some time trying to diagnose the sink issue and taking on a few addtl projects, so I wasn't unhappy with it. Overall - very professional, courteoous and did a great job. I highly recommend them and will use them again.

He did a GREAT job!! I wish I could give more than an "A" on this site. Not only did he fix the leak (a cracked refrigerator line) and give me a lot of details about the leak, but he also noticed that my heat pump was not running properly and recommended a good vendor in Danbury to fix it. Excellent!!!

As I said, this business did the original work several weeks ago, and I submitted a report. The person who was sent the second time was knowledgeable and fixed a leak in our bathtub that began after the original work was done. We were not charged for the service.

We woke up to a basement full of water that morning. At first we thought it was the rain, but it seemed to be near our water pump, and there was a hissing sound in the wall. FUN! I turned off the emergency shut-off, looked at the sticker on the tank and it said to call a pumber in Ridgefield, so I did and left a message. Then I signed on Angie's list and found the top plumber nearby with 24 hour service, Salvatore's plumbing, and left a message. They called back within a half hour (the guy in Ridgefield never called back at all) and said they would be there around 1 would that be okay? I said fine. It was inconvenient to have no water for a few hours, but they were on their way.. Around 1 a very friendly guy named Mike came and fixed the problem, a broken valve (plastic, no soldering involved.) He did not charge me extra because it was normal hours by then (though I called early in the AM). It took him about 15-20mins. Since he was there, I asked him to replace my Hot/Cold spigots on my washing machine, they were pretty corroded. He did, and it took him maybe an hour? All in all, it was just GREAT to call someone, have them show up, and do the work in a timely manner. It didn't seem to matter at all that our job was small. I would absolutely call Salvatore Plumbing again.

We are very happy with the work done by Salvatore Plumbing's crew. We had called several plumbers pleading for help with the install of a self-purchased toilet as part of a quick remodel of our main bath in time for a family event. My husband found the old toilet could not be removed. After calling for days to other plumbers (and having no working toilet in the main bathroom of our house), I contacted Salvatore's Plumbing off of Angie's List. Not only did they call back promptly, they kept in touch with my husband when they were delayed at another project. Although a little late due to the above, they came in and did the job quickly. And sure enough, they literally had to destroy the old toilet by taking a hammer to it to get it out. I will definitely plan on using this outfit again for our plumbing needs.

The worker that came out was extremely competent and very friendly. He didn't mind if I asked questions about what was going on. I would hire him again in a blink.

Overall, quite happy with Paul Salvatore. I went some time without having a dependable plumber. I found them through Angie's list, and they lived up to their ratings. Paul is very prompt with callbacks, and they showed up and did the work as promised. I also have a small water heater and I am looking at all my options for upgrading, including tankless water heaters. Paul was honest with what would work best and why. I appreciate the honest approach to the customer. I will use them again for the water heater issues and I would highly recommend Paul for your plumber.

A month after moving into our new home, we asked them to install gas dryer and check on all of the furnace pipes. They came on the day that they said they would and did all work we asked.

I have to say this went very well. They definitely lived up to the reputation of quality services that others here on Angie's List have commented about. They were completely respectful when they were here and all the work was completely within the estimate they gave.

OK. Whenever I took a shower, I had water dripping from a recessed lighting fixture in my kitchen (which is right below my master bathroom). In addition, the tub in a second bathroom did not have a working stopper. I called Salvatore Plumbing on a Monday after reading their excellent reviews on this site. They had a voice mail system to use in non-emergency situations. (They also have an emergency number to call). I received a call back within an hour or two and described the situation. They asked me if I wanted them to come on Tuesday afternoon at the end of their previously scheduled appointments or would I rather be the first appointment of the day on Wednesday or Thursday. Since I was traveling on Wednesday, I chose to have them come on Thursday morning. A very nice middle-aged man arrived at 8:40am and after a warm greeting, we proceeded to my kitchen to look at the ceiling around the light fixture which showed water marks. Then I took him upstairs and showed him the shower. He began his troubleshooting by filling the tub from the faucet and then letting it drain. No leakage. (I should point out that on several occasions during his visit he stated that he would rather not put a hole in my ceiling or shower wall if he didn't have to. I appreciated his efforts to show me that he was trying to save me both money and headaches). After a few minutes of further investigation, he called me upstairs. He had removed the plate behind the shower controls and showed me that there was evidence of water penetration. It became clear that water was splashing back onto the wall of the shower and leaking into the wall behind the controls. He seemed confident that all that was needed was some serious caulking. He was surprised that there was not only no caulk there, but also no gasket. After 10 minutes, he had the thing caulked and reassembled and he suggested I wait until the next morning to use the shower. I went ahead and recaulked around the tub just to cover every base. The next morning the shower was used twice with no kitchen leaking. Yay! What a relief to learn that what I thought would be a big job involving new drywall and lots of $ was taken care of in an hour for $95.00. He also was kind enough to repair the nonworking tub stopper in another bathroom. It was a simple adjustment; taken care of in 10 minutes. I couldn't have had a better experience and it is great to have a local plumber that I can rely on. Two thumbs up.

Returned call within 2 hours and scheduled the work for the next afternoon. I described the problem. The plumber listened attentively and asked questions to asses the extent of the problem and then gave an estimate. Arrived on time, completed the work promptly and I was charged what was estimated as the cost for the repair plus parts.

THEY ARE VERY METICULOUS WORKERS. THEY ARE EASY TO TALK TO ABOUT THE BATHROOM AND THEY EXPLAINED THINGS TO ME. THEIR PRICING WAS FAIR FOR A PLUMBER.
