"While this project included the design and installation of wood stairs and ladders, more appropriately, it should be classified as the construction of built-in furniture. You can view a picture of this project in our photos"
"You can see a picture of this project in my photos"
"This project is a great example of efficient use of a smaller space. In the center of the Built-in is a window seat with a lift top for access to a storage area. To both sides of the window seat are 3 base cabinets for more storage and to the left of the window are bookshelves and to the right is a space for a widescreen TV. You can see a picture of thhis project in my photos."
"At its highest point, the bonus room project soars to a height of 12 feet and is 20 feet wide. It also surrounds a window and a desk. In order to access the upper shelves, an industrial rolling platform ladder was used rather than a rolling library ladder. The industrial ladder provides greater stability, carries a greater weight load and work space on the platform. You can see a picture of this project in "my photos"."
"This project was the design, construction and installation of a single center stringer staircase from the living room to a loft area. You can see a picture of this staircase in my photos."

"See pictures of this project in my photos, please."
"In order to maximize use of available space, the bookcase has a double depth. See picture of this project in my photos!"
"All of our custom designed built-in furniture is constructed in our shop and then transported to the homeowners house for installation and trimming. What made this project unusual was that it included floor to ceiling 8 foot high bookcases for the conversion of a second floor bedroom into an office at home. Because of the height, the casework had to be constructed into sections in order to clear the staircase leading to the second floor. Trimming the project made it impossible to detect the combined casework."
"An unusual feature of this project is that it is built over and encloses a baseboard heating system. The first shelf of the project is 8 inches off the floor on top of the baseboard heating. The heat moves from the baseboard heaters against the wall in an insulated space to the front of the cabinets and escapes through registers built into the cabinet baseboard. There is a picture of this project in ?my photos?."
"I think the best way to respond to this incredibly negative review is to provide the reader with some information about Old Bedford Fine Custom Carpentry and who we are. Old Bedford has been in business for 25 years. You would have to go back more than 10 years to find a negative review about the Company and that review would be the only negative review in the Company's 25-year history. But equally as significant, and perhaps more so, are the positive reviews. These reviews, more than 40 on Home Advisor alone, are not just positive reviews, they are all, without exception, outstanding reviews. And there are many more outstanding reviews on the company's website (oldbedfordcarpeXXXX). *** The problem with this review is that the comments are all based on Home Owners false statement. HOMEOWNER'S STATEMENT IN HIS ORIGINAL POSTING OF THIS REVIEW that "we advised him of fireplace stone before he had even begun our project" HAS BEEN DELETED FROM ABOVE REVIEW BY HOME ADVISOR, HAVING DETERMINED THE STATEMENT TO BE FALSE. This false statement was used to direct attention away from the fact that all of the issues in the review are the result of homeowner's complete disregard of contractual terms & drawing specifications. Take away the veracity of this statement, as Home Advisor has done, then all Home Owners negative statements become suspect as also being false. The most glaring and pertinent example of this is the chimney stone being installed not only on front of fireplace but around sides reducing width of space on each side of fireplace for cabinets. The homeowners were provided with and accepted a drawing as part of the original contract showing the dimensions required for the cabinets. By ignoring the drawing dimensions & allowing the mason to extend the stone into the side space the cabinets were blocked from sliding into the space behind the side stones. In the end, the only solution was to reconfigure the cabinets from 1 on each side of fireplace to 2 cabinets on each side. When I presented an invoice for the additional work required for the cabinet installations, Mike's demeanor changed radically from a really nice guy to bellicose. I was so shocked and disturbed by this behavior that I apologized for whatever I had said that upset him. I assured him that my only goal was to complete a project that he and his wife really loved. At the same time, he in turn, apologized for his actions but also stating, as justification for his behavior - "unfortunately I only have two modes." When I asked him what he meant by the two modes, his response was exactly as I had observed him the day before (nice guy mode/bellicose guy mode). After I had finished and left the job, homeowner sent me a text about doing some additional work. I texted back a detailed explanation as to how the work might be done but because of the aesthetics, I recommended that he not do the work. Here's what he texted back to me. "Thanks for your input Len and I understand. I'll make sure I reflect my happiness in our reviews". It wasn't until I got this last text message expressing his happiness that I appreciated he had moved from one personality mode (bellicose) to the other (nice guy). The published review above would appear to be a move back to the not so nice personality mode. I'm not a Physician nor am I making a diagnosis but I do understand what dual personality schizophrenic behavior looks like. Finally, the only truthful statement by Home Owner in his review is that we did disclose his name & address to a new lead who lives in Greenwich, had seen this review and was very concerned that Mike might be a neighbor. After leads request for this information, we concluded we had a civic responsibility to make the disclosure. Following these comments are the more than 40 outstanding reviews posted by Old Bedford's customers over the years. Can you reconcile Mike's review to these reviews; bet you can't!"
