Gilson is very detail oriented, does great work, and is reasonably priced. He had previously painted the inside of our house, and we didn't hesitate to use him again. Very thorough in his work. For the deck, he sanded it down completely to the wood before staining. He is also helpful giving advice on colors if you ask. We weren't sure about the trim color, so he got samples and painted one window so we could decide; a great help since it's hard to tell just from card samples. Highly recommended and will use him for and future painting needs.

Gilson did a great job and was a pleasure to work with. The house is framed inside with antique barn beams, and he was careful not to get paint on any of them. Reaching the highest point of the cathedral ceiling while avoiding the beams was also a challenge. The wallpaper had been poorly applied so that removal was difficult and time-consuming, but he warned us up front that removal might take extra time. The house looks wonderful.

Gilson's work was excellent.    I was very happy with the result of the exterior power washing of the white three story house.  He made a point of protecting the rose bushes at the base of the house by using covers so the cleaning chemicals did not harm them.  He restored the use and color of a wooden porch which was very weathered and turning green from the moss of an overhanging tree.  

The painting of a five room apartment was done very professionally.   The surfaces were expunged of holes and left smooth.   Special attention was taken to insure paint did not touch lights, door handles or window seams. 

Gilson was able to complete both jobs within a week and even worked on Saturday.    I reached out to him a month after the job was done for some replacement paint of a unique color to touchup some paint after I had tile work done in a bathroom.  He procured the extra paint and delivered it to me very quickly and at no charge.

I will definitely use his services again.

Gilson takes great pride in his work and it shows.  We have been consistently pleased with the quality of his painting and his price cannot be beat.  We started with smaller projects and have worked our way up to an entire exterior paint job as we could see his quality and skill with a brush was excellent.  My husband has come home every day this fall and remarked on how wonderful our house looks as he comes in the newly painted front door!
Gilson takes his time to evaluate the project, the anticipated timing, and expected price.  Occasionally, I have asked him to add small projects to the previously bid work (like painting the interior of the pantry and shelves) and he has been able to adjust his schedule to accommodate.  He did a great job collaborating with unaffiliated contractors who were repairing trim work and was consistently very respectful of our home, including smaller members of our family (dog, cat, kid etc). He is punctual and realistic.  He has great ideas on how to tackle a project but is also willing to experiment and try a new product or technique at our request.  Gilson is easy to work with and very professional and we will continue to use him.

The plaster walls and ceilings in our home looked as though they applied with a mop.  There were significant cracks and a lot of texture.  In order to smooth the walls, we asked Gilson to skim coat until smooth and then paint. 
In summary, Gilson is a professional, meticulous and trustworthy.  He showed up when he said he would, worked hard and did an an incredible job. 
I knew this was going to be a long and diffuclt job due to the amount of skim coating and painting.  Gilson took it on and did it right.  Not only was the finished work better than we had expected, he cleaned up every day before he left and helped move furniture room to room so that it wouldn't get dirty.
Towards the end of the project, we had to leave for vacation for a week.  We left a key for him and when we came home, the house was spotless.
I will be recommending him to friends.

Gilson was absolutely fantastic! I had several estimates for the job and Gilson's was about 30% cheaper than the next best price. I was skeptical about the quality given the low price but his reviews on Angie's list were great so I decided to give him a try.

Gilson clearly takes a lot of pride in his work and his business. He was incredibly professional and he was extremely careful when prepping and painting. Our job required a lot of prep but Gilson did not rush it. He also worked with me every step of the way to ensure that I was happy with the work.

Gilson also did a fantastic job of keeping our house clean during the job. The job lasted for several days and everyday he carefully covered every surface, painted, and then removed all of the coverings when he was done for the day.

All in all, Gilson's work was outstanding and I will absolutely hire him the next time around.

Gilson did an excellent job with our paint job. He was meticulous in his painting, as well as his prep work and clean up. He removed every outlet plate, etc--(and then put them back)--he did not paint around these items on the wall. He showed up punctually at 9am every morning. I received at least 6 estimates for this job and Gilson gave us the best price. I will definitely consider using him again in the future for other painting. He also does power washing. Highly recommend.

The process went very well.  Gilson came out to survey the job on Wednesday.  He and I coordinated for Friday morning to do the work.  He kept me posted prior to his pending arrival.

Gilson was professional and courteous.  He came equipped with all materials and worked diligently and cleanly.  It was a small job but he did a great job.  I would certainly recommend Horizon Paint.

Gilson was absolutely fantastic. He was thorough, communicative, and fast. We had a three week window before moving in to our new house, and had to get painting done and floors refinished. He was amazing- very flexible, very friendly, and worked extremely hard to get everything done in the time frame allotted. The job is beautiful- the house was in dire need of paint, including a massive amount of prep needed on almost every surface. The difference is amazing. I could not have asked for more.

In a word...exceptional.  Gilson was tremendously professional, respectful, & hard working.  My fiance and I have grown to expect great service from contractors we find on Angie's List, and still we were totally impressed with the value of the service  that Gilson provided.  Gilson arrived right on time, prepped the entire area, removed all of the banisters (which I didn't even expect or think to do the night before), filled & sanded all holes/dings/dents, cut-touched up the ceilings, applied the (2) coats of paint, and even caulked all the trim (again totally unexpected).  Upon completion, he cleaned up and left the place looking nice he'd never been there...minus the awesome new paint color!
Again, the tremendous level of professionalism, value, work ethic & the fact that he's just a great guy has made all future paint jobs a no-brainer...I'm going to Gilson!  Thanks again Gilson for an awesome job...the place looks great!

Horizon Painting, Gilson Silva. Gilson stripped wallpaper from a bath and bedroom and painted the bath, bedroom and kitchen dining room. Excellent! Great quality and pride of workmanship. Very detailed, neat and clean. Came every day on time as promised. Very patient and understanding. A fair price and great value. I will definitely use him again and re commons him without hesitation. Aside from his great work, he is easy to deal with and a very nice person.

This is the second time I hired Gilson.  He is courteous, thorough and takes pride in his work.  I will only call him for any future work.

We used Gilson previously to remove popcorn ceilings and paint the interior of our home. We were so pleased with his work we knew who to call when our homes exterior needed to be repainted.  Gilson did another great job prepping and painting the exterior of our home.  Always professional and helped with selecting just the right colors.  My neighbors commented on how beautiful our home looks and one even thought we had sided our home.  He could not believe it was the original clapboard siding .

We have used Gilson on two occasions for our rental condo and our home, and he was a pleasure to work with, on time, on budget and cleaned up spotless, while providing a reasonable quote at the onset. I have had mixed reviews with Angie's list service providers, so I have also used Gilson's referral of friends and contacts for other non-painting work such as landscaping and yard work. We expect to use Gilson for future painting projects and highly recommend him.

Horizon Paint is an outstanding business. This is the second time I've used them.  High quality, reasonable prices, professional service. All work done by owner, sometimes with a helper.  Always on time, or tells me if he needs to be late.  Spends a great deal of time on preparation and clean up. Very highly recommended.

To begin you should know that there were 4 people living in the house at the time of the project. Project began later than expected, December instead of November, BUT it was well worth the wait to have Gilson doing the job. You should know that he does not leave a job until he personally is satisfied he has completed the job and THEN, when the customer is totally satisfied the job is complete. 4 bedrooms, 2-1/2 baths, 2 offices, laundry room, long hallway, mud room, foyer, family room, cathedral ceiling great room, tons of doors and windows including 3 exterior doors. Gilson was very considerate about working "around" us living here during the job. He was also extremely concerned about the order in which rooms were to be painted particularly since the late start date coincided with the holidays. Gilson is meticulous and a consummate professional. He never left any questions to guessing and asked for clarification before picking up his paintbrush. His eye for detail included so much more patching than I even imagined necessary. He considered my questions carefully and offered opinions when I asked him. He has a keen eye for detail and colors. He has an exceptional talent for the division of colors when open floor plan room division can be difficult to manage. We supplied the paint, he supplied the tools and additives. His paint estimates were spot on and there is no excessive amount of paint leftover. We were interested in using consumer brands of paint and unlike many other painters, Gilson did not require us to use a specific name brand. In fact, he commented on the quality of the Lowes/Home Depot paints which he had never before used. At the end of every day he cleaned and tidied the rooms he was working in. He was never intrusive while working and oftentimes was so quietly involved that we didn't even know he was in the house. I have already recommended him to friends and would definitely ask him back to do additional work.

Mr. Silva did an excellent job. He is careful and meticulous, the best painter I have ever retained. He also is polite and professional. 

The deck looks gorgeous.  Gilson took care of all details, he even picked the colors.
It's a pleasure dealing with someone trustworthy, professional, prompt and talented.
We have some indoor paint work to be done in the next couple of years. I will be making only one call to Gilson.
