ACD Painters

Diego, who owns ACD Painters, is also a general contractor. We got to meet him randomly as he was looking for an address in our condo, which was fortuitous as we were about to start a renovation on a total kitchen and two-bath overhaul. We talked, worked out what we wanted to do, got what I think is a very reasonable quote from Diego, and hired him. I have to say; honestly, the entire process has gone really well. Diego's crew is hard-working, conscientious, and flexible to changes. We didn't have a fully worked out plan for the renovation, but Diego worked with us to iron out the details and has been accommodating to issues and "changes of mind" as we've gone along. The only frustrating issue for all of us has been supply chain issues. But, as we're nearing the end of the project, my wife and I are exceptionally pleased with the result. I can't recommend Diego enough, and should you choose to work with him, I think you'll feel the same way.

Diego and his men were reliable, professional and he personally inspected the completed job with me and my wife. He and his men completed all tasks to fully complete the work before he would accept the final payment. Diego estimated the job would take 3-4 days but he added more men and completed the entire job in two days! A very pleasant surprise. I would not hesitate to hire Diego and ACD Painters for any future work. He was not the low cost provider but he was worth the money he was paid.

It looks beautiful! This was not an easy job, as we have a cape style house and on one end there is a gulley which can make it difficult to place a ladder safely, 3 floors up. Diego and Neil were here every morning by 7:30. They worked hard all day long and only broke for a short lunch. They were very courteous and Diego knew which products to use to solve our problems. They finished in 4 days, a half day sooner than estimated. Anything I saw that needed touching up Diego was on it. Although the estimate was for one coat of primer and 2 costs of paint, the job ended up requiring a third coat. He did not charge me more because of it. Because I was unsure about what color to use on the shutters and doors, he suggested going to Sherwin Williams, whose paint he uses and talk with their consultant. That was another hit. I went to the Frederal Road, Danbury, CT store and the young woman selected a color I never would have, but she was right on. I believe her name was Colleen. Diego is a very concienceous person, did a beautiful job and I would hire him again in a New York minute.

Diego and his team were the hardest working team I have ever witnessed. They started before 8am and were often still working at 8pm. They did a very professional job and spent a lot of time in the preparation. They cleaned up each evening, took care of all detail work and touch ups, and stuck to their original agreed upon price. I will definitely be using them again for other projects.

We interviewed several painters for the job, and finally decided on Diego, based on the great job he did on our deck the prior year - so we knew he was professional and reliable.  Also, his quote was very reasonable.

Not only did the job include 4 bedrooms and closets, kitchen, family room, dining room, pantry and laundry room, it also included the hallways - one of them being huge that went up the stairs to the 2nd floor.  Also, the family room has vaulted ceilings.

The first thing Diego did was go thru the entire house and prep the walls. Basically he reset the nails that were starting to pop out, repaired a couple of dinged corners and some floor boards.  He mudded and sanded all repairs.

We wanted an accent wall in each room.  Diego was happy to test multiple colors on the walls till we were happy.  

Then, prior to painting each room, he'd tape it off and lay the ground cloths.   The painting went quickly and looked beautiful.  Every day, before they left, they cleaned up everything.  When doing the hallways, they made sure that we could still navigate them at the end of the day.  

They started the project on time, worked continuously (no days off except the weekends) until they were finished and we were super happy with the final results.

The rain and sun had taken their toll on our back yard deck.  After Diego power washed the deck, he pointed out several areas where the wood was damaged (rotted) or loose (railings).  He quickly repaired all of the problems and then stained the deck.  He used a roller on the deck and hand painted all of the railings and posts.  

He wasn't pleased with the look after the first coat, so on his own, and without charging any extra, Diego applied a 2nd coat.  

Diego promised us a beautiful deck and he sure delivered.
