Good Stuff: Jeff is good at determining the amount of paint needed for a job. When I mentioned to him that I previously used two other well known, highly rated painting companies; he said "I can run circles around anyone". He uses a helper who was excellent - good work ethic. His helper's work was good.
Not so Good - He asked to play his radio, I said yes but I didn't care for his singing that went along with it. The next day he asked if he could listen to the baseball game on TV, I said yes. (see more under the bad). His prep work is ok and inconsistent; he indicated verbally the prep work included nail pops; two were semi-addressed. When I pointed things out to Jeff, his mantra is "NO Problem" but he was not responsive when I pointed things out.
Bad Stuff: Jeff's demeanor changed when I told him that I called the person at the paint store and inquired about his reliability. Three times he brought up "Why did you call (name)" it was obvious to me that it bothered him that I called her. While his worker was plugging along he sits on my sofa and started watching the baseball game. He got a little too aggressive for me when I told him not to start cutting in the bedroom or bath, that I wanted him to finish the living space as it was only half finished. He lacks the work ethic and professionalism exhibited by his helper. I told him I would do an Angie's list review; he responded with a veiled threat that he better not see anything negative. I told him I would write the good and the bad and anything negative that I say will be able to be supported, 'your prep and painting speaks for itself and the voice mail messages are still on my phone.
