I highly recommend Chester Roofing, and Joe Donnelly! I would definitely use his services again. You get what you pay for where Joe is concerned. He was punctual, worked hard, was very organized, and extremely pleasant to do business with. I found Joe to be an honest, trustworthy overall good guy with real talent and skill. Joe shared some other issues he came across as he worked and let me know his thoughts. He doesn't push you into anything...just gives the issue, and offers to help or repair..and let's decide if you are ready to add to the original project. I like that. I love my new roof and my new sky lights! And I will be recommending Joe Donnelly , Chester Roofing, to all my friends and neighbors.

I called Joe (the owner) and set an appointment for a quote. He arrived on time and told me what it would approximately would cost, it involved shingle work on house and that can be time consuming so I understood an exact price would not be possible. Based on my circumstances, he was willing to do the job over a couple of Saturdays. He offered to send me a contract or do it on a handshake, I opted for the handshake based on his well deserved reputation. A few days later he called and said another job got held up and he could get me in the next two days, for which I was very grateful.
Joe and his assistant arrived promptly both days and began to work quickly and efficiently which I appreciated. He explained each aspect of the job to me and took before and after pictures on he phone to show me, so I could clearly see the work being done as it progressed. I own a three story multi-level house with eight roofs (!) and over the years have had most of them repaired/replaced. Joe is the first contractor who actually Showed me the roof before and after so I could see that the work was actually done. Otherwise, without climbing up a ladder, how do we really know what was done?
As he was working he had me look at the house ( he was taking down some of the cedar shingles to install the flashing and putting up new ones) , to make sure I was satisfied with the way it looked - because I had recently just had the cedar shingles installed.
During the job they noticed that my gravel driveway had a few nails loose embedded in the stones so despite the fact THEY didn't drop any nails, they brought a huge rolling magnet with them and ran it a few times down the length of my drive for me, to pick up nails Other Contractors that had worked on my house had left. Any contractor who will do that for you is someone you should definately hire again and again. I only wish Joe did more than roofing!

The project went very well from the beginning to completion. The roofers were quick to quote the job, quick to schedule and even showed up earlie than expected. They worked diligently, professionally, and productively for the two weeks they were onsite. The roofs looked great!

The owner, Joe Donnelly, of the Chester Roofing and Siding Company is as honest and trustworthy as the day is long. He came out to quote a roof replacement job on a home I had just purchased. After assessing the roof, he responded with, "This roof has another good 10 years left before replacement is needed." to my complete relief!
He noted that the roof had been slightly damaged by someone who installed gutter screens and who broke quite a few shingles. Joe offerred to do the repair for a reasonable few hundred dollars. He will be the only roofing company I call when the need arises.
