He does no work himself. Most of the work is contracted out to local companies. That which is done by his employees presents an interesting aspect: the workers don't speak English, and if you try to get them to do something in a particular way, or not to do something because its unworkmanlike, they smile, say and quot;si,and quot; and go about it their own way. Unfortunately, these men are not electricians, and when they began messing with main household power, they blew a large number of circuits, melted wiring inside a breaker box, and blew the air conditioner. I called the a/c repairman who came out, fixed the issues, and shook his head at what had been done in the breaker box. The following day, his workers did the same thing again. I called the a/c repairman again. When I handed Ken the bill for these two service calls, he began to blow up, until I pointed out that these bills were the result of errors made by his employees who were doing work they were not qualified or licensed to perform. That resolved the issue.
We ended up with a lot of unfinished work, and when I made the final payment, I pointed out to him that there were quite a few loose ends that needed to be tied up. His response, and quot;Well, you know you can trust me. I'll be by in the next two weeks and finish everything.and quot; I gave him the check. Big mistake! When he didn't show up, I phoned his office, left messages and got no response. I spoke to his employees who told me that they were embarrassed at the way he was handling matters, and telling him he needed to come by and finish the job. Finally after seven months, some men came by and did some of the work, leaving most undone, telling me they would be back in a few days to complete the work. That was two years ago. He then sent a bill for the and quot;extraand quot; work. In fact, there were a few extras tacked on, but since the bill wasn't itemized, it's difficult to ascertain how much is for new work, and how much for work that was already paid for.
conclusion: we still have a bit of unfinished work, and we can probably wait a long, long time before this man honors his commitments. Bottom line: he has no integrity whatsoever.
