Chose to use Showcase because the designer assigned to me, Vincent Guarino, assured me he would personally coordinate the project and it would at max disrupt my kitchen for 3-4 days; and that his sub-contractors were excellent. The only aesthetic assistance I requested was his help in identifying an accent tile to use on the backsplash. He waited until just before the actual demolition was to occur to show me his suggested accent tile although I had requested him to do so on multiple prior occasions. Of the four choices I was provided, three were totally unacceptable and the fourth was a maybe. This left me scurrying to find accent tile for a project that was soon to commence and I wound up having to use another vendor, Tile America, for assistance in selecting something satisfactory because Showcase's vendor had a limited selection. I was obliged to accept the readily available color and pattern available at Tile America although in hindsight because (unknown to me) the tiler wasn't going to show up for weeks I might have ordered the exact color and pattern preferred. Guarino scheduled my demolition and installation to occur during the week of what turned out to be his vacation - something I only learned after the fact. Had I been told he was going on vacation I would have asked that the project be delayed until his return. The initial demolition scheduling was for a Friday with no follow on work scheduled until the following Monday. Ridiculous. It was changed to Monday 8/14/17 but I was never given any exact time or dates for the follow on work, the incorrect presumption being that I would be available 24/7 to afford access. E-mails to Guarino and requests that he call me went unanswered. The plumbing reconnect was done incompetently resulting in a quiet drip that led to a major puddle on the lower shelf of my sink cabinet and warping of the shelf. A call back was required of the plumber to correct the leak. The next act in this black comedy of errors was the failure to schedule the immediate follow on arrival of the tile installer. I didn’t learn until 8/31/17 that he would arriving on 9/1/17. That morning Guarino delivered the wrong tile for him to install. The color was off, the delivered tiles being a creamy off white rather than the bright white desired. This led to additional delay while correct tile was re-ordered. When the tiler finally did the installation, because he had presumably not been given precise guidance in advance by Guarino, he installed the white backsplash tile up to the edge of the walls and beyond the bottom edge of my cabinets – which looked ridiculous. He also did nothing to smooth the plasterboard, which had been damaged during the demolition process, causing some unevenness in the tile backsplash after application of the tiles. Finally he didn't install the accent tiles. Most of the tile had to be removed and reinstalled the following day. Even then it was imperfect. The accent tile, a rope chain, was installed with gaps between the sections making it look unchain-like and sloppy. No effort was made to caulk or dress where the tile met the counters. (See photos) This whole project was unnecessarily unpleasant and unprofessional. Instead of my kitchen being out of commission for 3 or at best 4 days, it was instead more than 3 ½ weeks between start and finish. The owner of Showcase, Erica Caserta, later wrote me a two page letter essentially asserting all of the above was a normal incident to home improvement projects and/or beyond Showcase's control and accepted no responsibility for any aspect of the fiasco.

They did an excellent job. Erica is one of the smartest and most professional designers we've worked with. She knows color, balance, style as well as the details of appliance dimensions. I had compete trust in her unlike any of the other contractors who worked on this project. Showcase Kitchens is a small family run business and the limitless personalized attention we received was because of this. I wish we had another project ahead of us so that we could continue our work with them. Recommended enthusiastically and without reservation.

These people are extremely professional and committed to individual attention. We walked in with floor tile samples, travertine counter material, paint chips, etc. and they welcomed our ideas. What I liked most is that the two designers were not always in agreement with the options, which makes me feel they were being totally honest with us and not just saying what they thought we wanted to hear. This whole experience has been delightful. I look forward to the next phase.

Colleen at Showcase Kitchens is a really professional and dedicated contractor. She came over to the house and really explained the estimate and figures to my husband who wasn t about to shell out that kind of money without a real sense of what he was getting. The quality was fantastic and the price was right within the estimate they gave us. I would recommend this company without hesitation and they can be found on the net at http://www.showcasekitchensct.com.
