Master craftsman, Luciano Colella, has acquired an intense passion and talent for the art of restoration and gilding handed down by his father, Vincenzo Colella (a skillful cabinet maker for over fifty years). Luciano has refined his knowledge and skills as a student of The School of Art and Restoration in Bari, Italy. Today, after ten years working in the United States, he offers in disposition his skill, talent and professionalism to realize the most complex projects for the most demanding clients.

From the first contact until delivery of the finished product, Luciano and Anna were professional, courteous and extremely helpful. The chairs were lighter than I expected but Luciano was correct in using the lighter stain since there were many variations of color in the wood. The chairs blend so well with the kitchen cabinets. I have already recommended him to a friend and will definitely use his services in the future!! I am COMPLETELY satisfied.

I entrusted Luciano with a cedar hope chest that had been in my family for 100 years. It needed some repair and needed to be refinished. I wanted the natural cedar wood color, instead of the original dark cherry stain. It came out beautifully, it looks gorgeous and it will now last another 100 years! He picked it up and delivered it back, and sooner than I had expected. Really quality work and he obviously understands antiques and knows what he's doing. Great choice, highly recommend.

The craftsmanship demonstrated on my refinished table was nothing short of amazing. We had a family heirloom dining table that belonged to my husband's grandmother and it was restored to showroom quality. The table needed woodwork as well as refinishing and he also made a beautiful leaf that matches perfectly. He picked up the table and delivered at precisely the time he was expected. He is courteous and professional and I simply could not recommend more highly. If you hire him, you will not be disappointed!

We have a bedroom suite which I had custom built when I lived in Mexico. Recently, it was damaged when we had the house painted. Because of the nature of the work to be done, we turned to HomeAdvisor to find someone with these skills. We found The Gilder run by Luciano Colella. He took on the project to repair and restore the furniture. When he came to deliver the finished product we were amazed. The quality and care of the work went beyond what we expected. We had missing drawers from a gorgeous executive desk, that were lost in a move. The Gilder, was not only to come in and match everything PERFECTLY, but he also had the knowledge the exact wood, and even what year the hardware was produced to match. They were very quick with their turn around. I highly suggest using them!

My husband and I bought a new bedroom set for our 25th wedding anniversary. Of course having it in the house for only a couple of months, some type of plastic melted into the wood on the top of the dresser. It's still a mystery! Anyway, Luciano did an outstanding job in restoring it (looks like it just came out of the fractory). You can trust The Gilder completely. He is prompt, careful and courteous. Thank you Luciano!
