My wife slipped coming out of the shower and fell hard against the frameless shower door and glass surrounding it. She's tough so I wasn't worried about her but she hit the door so hard that it was out of whack. I do quite a bit of building and I'm very good at fixing this stuff but could not figure out how it could have bent out of shape the way it did. Another glass professional said at least one of the hinges had to be bent inside. So, I called Lew who suggested ordering two hinges, in case they were both bent (to save on labor rather than have to return to install a second hinge). Lew called me back to approve the shocking cost of $85 per hinge, which even shocked him, along with a labor charge of $150. Actually, I knew these polished nickel hinges cost a fortune so I was expecting the high price. And, the labor price for two professionals to repair it was very reasonable.
The best part is, before his guys (Steve and Dave) installed the hinges, they went over the situation with a fine-toothed comb and told me they suspected something else was out of whack. Sure enough, even though every bit of silicone around the rest of the glass was perfectly intact, they played with it in a way that showed the surrounding glass, not the door, had slid over a quarter inch (the hinges were not bent).
Now what? Well they did a superb job of re-setting the glass and siliconing it permanently in place. They told me they would find a way to return the expensive hinges with no charge to me and charged me the $150 labor instead of $320. I could not have been happier. Mostly because I'm planning to sell this home and am so glad I found honest contractors who will install my next home's shower doors. These guys were honest, neat (put on booties), respectful of our home, reasonably priced, prompt, perfect in every way and a pleasure to deal with. They are my new glass contractors and will be for all my future glass and mirror needs.
They responded to the first phone call within hours to give an estimate of the cost after inspecting the damage.
The estimate cost was well within the limits set by the business.
The actual repair was completed within one day after the payment was made.
The company requested a partial payment, which is the appropriate procedure to be followed.
The business, however, was so satisfied with their first visit and demeanor, that full payment was
made in advance.
THIS COMPANY IS TRUSTWORTHY OF THIS REVIEW.
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS THIS TYPE OF SERVICE.
Lou was prompt, polite, professional and his pricing was more than fair. They did a wonderful job, were very neat and tidy, and I cannot say enough good things about them and their work. I am happy to recommend them, and I will definitely choose them again
