By the time I did, I had already had someone else come to look. The other company's price was $750 less for the same service. Also we asked to have the quote done for both the the upstairs and downstairs separate and together and only received one price.
I was not happy with the responsiveness, so I would not consider using them to complete the work even if they had been cheaper.
"It is important to know. Neal's did not do the work. We do not feel that a review of a company that has not performed services for the complaining party is not appropriate. This customer did not agree with what we suggested was the best solution for her flooring needs. Neal's will not install any product that we feel is not appropriate for the conditions present in the home. We would rather lose a sale than install a product that we feel will fail and only cause the customer future problems."
.
This was our 3rd of 4 assessments, Neal's Flooring was the worst,...one of which our assessments included a representative from Lowe's. The suggestion that we can layer hardwood floors over only a 1/2 inch of plywood was immediately dismissed by Everyone (except for Neal's), all required at least an additional 1/2 inch of plywood, some recommending more. In addition the other vendor's recommended a layer of vapor barrier between the two layers of plywood due to the heavy moisture coming from the basement. Others recommended solutions for the slight bulge in the floor and adjustments to deal with the curve which would make it more economical for us to install the hardwood floors. None recommended we should go with unfinished flooring.
Overall, in my opinion, Neal's is not interested in leading a ethical buisness practice but is out to make a buck and has no cares about the longevity of their projects. If I had gone with them my floors would have been a disatrouse nighmare of bulges within a year.
