We have detailed receipt documenting this work.
However, we just learned today, September 25, 2013, that he only replaced 1 (ONE) brake. The brakes were making a strange noise, and the ABS light and regular brake warning lights would turn on/off. Took it to local mechanic and he informed us that the rear brakes were NEVER touched (and have not been working for quite some time, as they are locked). He also informed us that only 1 front brake was replaced (and he showed us the original 2007 caliper on the passenger side).
So we paid 877.00 a year ago and only 1 brake was replaced. ONE. 877.00 for parts and labor for ONE brake.
Dr. Walt should be ashamed of himself.
But, it is our fault. We should have learned our lesson. Dr. Walt came highly recommended. I used him in 2006 for a repair to my 1996 Toyota Corolla. The car needed some routine transmission work (796.00). When I started the car to leave the shop, it make a strange ticking noise, it kept trying to turn over but wouldn't. Dr. Walt came running out and said-"WOAH. Be careful when starting. It's sticking." I asked why that had bot been fixed with the repair and he said that there was not any problem--I just had to make sure the the key was fully engaged. (How one turns a key that is not fully engaged, I do not know.) I drove away. The NEXT day, I started the car. It made that same noise. But it started. However, as I was driving the car keep trying to "turn over" and kept sounding like it was trying to start (even though it was already running). As I was about to pull over, smoke came billowing out from under the hood. I stopped. I popped the hood and it was filled with smoke and some small flames. I had the car towed to the dealer (as Dr. Walt could not be reached). In the end, I needed to buy a new car. And, Dr. Walt was "not available" for comment.
