Great experience!  Walter got back to me quickly after I left a message looking for an estimate.  He came out within days to talk about the project and then came out again with different materials to choose from.  We knew immediately we were going to hire him to rebuild and expand our deck. His estimate was fair and reasonable and fit within our budget.  The project started and was completed in the timeframe that we agreed upon.  Walter and his crew are professional, neat, and detail-oriented.  The quality of workmanship is of high standards.  There were never communication issues.  Walter communicated well and we were never guessing what was coming next.  If there were problems, he let us know immediately.  We love our new deck!!   We would definitely hire him again!  

Walter Hallier Recommendation We strongly recommend Walter Hallier, owner of C&W Carpentry of Branford, CT based upon the quality and timeliness of the work he has completed at our home. He recently completed a rehabilitation and upgrade of our kitchen within six weeks and it is beautiful. With his assistants and subcontractors, he delivered exactly what we wanted, except for the tile floors, which were completed by another contractor we hired directly. Walter performed other general carpentry projects for us last year, including replacing our front door. We hired him after checking his customer references, which were all outstanding. We believe Walter stands out from others for the following reasons: • He listens to his customers and is genuine in his desire to please them. • He is a problem-solver; he gives customers what they want. If he disagrees with a customer request, he explains why and offers alternate solutions that may be more structurally sound, cost effective or are more functional. But the customer is always right. • He returns all calls promptly. He is very polite and is an excellent listener. Neither he nor his assistants and subs show ego or arrogance. • His carpentry/joiner work is excellent. He knows how to install cabinets that may have variances from manufacturing into a room with less than perfect walls and everything fits as promised. Everything is plumb, level and tight. • He works very hard and is very focused. When he gives a project milestone or deadline, he meets it, unless material is not delivered on time. • He manages his assistants and subcontractors well. They did not enter the premises until he brought them in and gave them detailed instructions. This included electrician, plumber, painter and carpentry subs. He holds his subs to pre-agreed time frames and does not tolerate unexplained delays and no-shows. • He carefully monitors everyone’s work and avoids mistakes and delays. • His project management skills are first rate. He always knows the next step and avoids many issues and delays by proactive management. He knows every step in the demolition, removal, preparation and finishing process and is constantly ensuring all details are addressed. • He and his help maintain a clean work site. Everything is vacuumed and swept before leaving the site for the day. • He keeps his customers informed at all times. • He has a great but dry sense of humor. He is always respectful and sensitive to others opinions and comments. We will definitely hire him again for any work on our home.

They were always on schedule and a answered their phones and responded to my questions right away. They knew exactly where to send me to pick out and assist me with all the materials. When I moved here and they completed the work for me, I was pregnant and they helped me to complete the job with minimal stress. The quality of work was great and they cleaned up after themselves. They were very good at explaining what needed to be done. They were 100% amazing and I would never use anyone else to work on my house in the future.
