Bill arrived, a friendly professional who was willing to give more time and take on more tasks than I had originally asked for. [I chose to pay extra as thanks] Using up-to-date thermal imaging and moisture detection, visual inspection, and a lot of poking around, he gave me a clear answer about where water was leaking into the house, was knowledgeable re: options...He offered several other helpful suggestions & observations along the way that will help solve some minor issues that I hadn't noticed or had stumped me. As a result of his sleuthing w/in my house, I have a sense of: 1) magnitude of problem, 2) what--and how quickly--I must do things to address both the ice dams I have this winter, and 3) where in my house needs better insulation or other kinds of alterations that will reduce the problem of heat loss into the attic that contributes to ice dams. I had had energy audits, and Bill still gave me more I could do.
Description of Work: Thermal imaging & moisture detection equipment to identify areas of moisture and source of water leak in home; inspection of home for sources of heat loss that led to ice dams causing leaks. NOTE: I do not know if Bill is a certified home inspector, and don't see formal home inspection as a service listed on their website. I am submitting this report for those interested in having their houses inspected for problems or for an energy audit. I urge those interested to learn more about CTC infrared if they have specific insurance or bank needs for inspection. I hired CTC Infrared and Bill to use his skill & knoweldge with thermal imaging and moisture detection equipment to help me figure out what to do, and how quickly, related to some water damage in my home. [See the company website for preventive or diagnostic services related to electricity, which I don't know much about.]
