Staff is very friendly, however when Vet called to discuss the additional meds needed for our 13-year old black lab, he started talking to us about and quot;quality of lifeand quot;, and quot;putting the dog downand quot;, etc... we were at lunch and that didn't sit too well with us (we started crying at the table). We understand the motivation of the conversation was probably with the best of intentions (we do believe in euthanasia), however did seem slightly inappropriate over the phone and very impersonal.
With that said - we do still bring our other 2 dogs to Bolton, and will continue to do so.
Great hours (24/7) so I can always get in quickly with an urgent concern
Appointment times are also very flexible which is very helpful for busy families.
Many vets on staff so there is a great knowledge bank as well as a variety of services
They offer a wide variety of surgical services on site
The don't sugar coat the info. If your pet is sick they are straight forward, when the prognosis isn't good they are honest and willing to discuss options.
The doctors always take their time with me and all of my questions.
Cons -
They have many exam rooms so it is always busy during peak hours. This is hard if you have a nervous pet.
The Check out area is horrible. It's over crowded, always too busy, there is almost always a line but no place to actually wait in line. You end up blocking an exam room or two as well as the exit. And again if you have a nervous pet, there is no place to avoid the other animals.
They almost always charge more for services and products I have received elsewhere. ( Although some doctors have been better about this than others)
