They are expensive and this is a hospital. A for service. I've got five cats. It was all done exactly as it should have been, no infections, no repercussions. That's all except for one time.  My daughter uses them now. I would say that they are great, expensive, take them there but don't have this particular doctor in charge.

Excellent. Decisions were made thoughtfully and jointly with us after discussing options. Our dog did improve and we took her home after a 2 day stay. We've had dogs for many years but we're new to the area and this practice. Best care ever.

The care is excellent. They are excellent provider. The overall experience and professionalism of the staff in general and the veterinerians specifically is what I would recommend.

Very punctual. Didn't make us bring the dog in multiple times (saved us money). However the meds were super expensive, and instead of giving us just a few days at a time, they gave us 10+ days (which cost over $120). We do understand, however would have preferred the and quot;few daysand quot; approach.
Staff is very friendly, however when Vet called to discuss the additional meds needed for our 13-year old black lab, he started talking to us about and quot;quality of lifeand quot;, and quot;putting the dog downand quot;, etc... we were at lunch and that didn't sit too well with us (we started crying at the table). We understand the motivation of the conversation was probably with the best of intentions (we do believe in euthanasia), however did seem slightly inappropriate over the phone and very impersonal.
With that said - we do still bring our other 2 dogs to Bolton, and will continue to do so.

I have been a client at Bolton Vet Hospital since 1970. I have taken all my pets there many times for routine care as well as when they were sick or hurt. The quality of care is always excellent. They really treat me and my pets with kindness and the quality of care is the best. I have called at all hours of the day and night and always gotten a return call quickly. I have told my husband I wish I got return calls from my own doctors in such a timely manner.

Pros -
Great hours (24/7) so I can always get in quickly with an urgent concern
Appointment times are also very flexible which is very helpful for busy families.
Many vets on staff so there is a great knowledge bank as well as a variety of services
They offer a wide variety of surgical services on site
The don't sugar coat the info. If your pet is sick they are straight forward, when the prognosis isn't good they are honest and willing to discuss options.
The doctors always take their time with me and all of my questions.
Cons -
They have many exam rooms so it is always busy during peak hours. This is hard if you have a nervous pet.
The Check out area is horrible. It's over crowded, always too busy, there is almost always a line but no place to actually wait in line. You end up blocking an exam room or two as well as the exit. And again if you have a nervous pet, there is no place to avoid the other animals.
They almost always charge more for services and products I have received elsewhere. ( Although some doctors have been better about this than others)

Their technicians took care of pets in my home while I was away. They have been very good. The fee was $15 per day which for me was high but for the area it was reasonable. They would feed my animal and make sure a light was on. They came three times per day. They know what to look for if something is not up to par or if the animal is not adjusting well. I really like them but I had one problem because they were not always available. When they were kittens it was easier to get someone to take care of them than as adults.

I had an appointment at 5:20 PM, and we got in to the exam room around 5:40. My dog is anxious and his first reaction to a stranger who talks to him too early is to bite them. If a stranger ignores him at the outset, he's fine within a couple minutes. We told the vet the situation. She had us put him on the floor, and she came down to his level to be less intimidating, but she still talked to him, so he nipped at her. She didn't freak out, though she went in the back to get a vet tech to help, and had us put his muzzle on. I think I heard her say "He just tried to take my hand off" when she was talking in the back, which was a little unprofessional, but it's understandable. Our dog was completely calm during the exam, and he let her take a sample from his bump without even reacting. She let us take his muzzle off after she took the sample. After she was done giving us the good results from the fine needle aspiration, she fed him some treats, to make sure that it ended on a good note. All in all, she was friendly, seemed knowledgeable, and handled our difficult dog well. We paid about $60 for the examination, $30 for the FNA, plus taxes and other fees. I think exams were cheaper at our vet in Pennsylvania, but I think everything's more expensive in Connecticut.

One quick look at her (her head was blown up like a basketball) and a shot cost $150, which I consider a bit too much for five minutes. OTOH, it saved her life and I'm grateful that they're open to provide such services. So if I had it to do again, I'd go back there. They got right to her and didn't doddle. She got her meds and she went home. They did what they were supposed to do and provided a vet. That's great. It's lousy that everything costs so much, but I can't blame them. God knows, if there was Avon or Glastonbury, it probably would have cost double. :(

It is a large hospital and is open 24/7. There is always someone available. It is very well staffed with excellent doctors. I have one in particular that I work with most of the time and she is wonderful. It is just a great place. I will continue to use this facility.

I have been using this vet for 20 years and have no complaints. They have top notch doctors and quality staff. I had an emergency visit 3 years ago and they literally saved my dog's life. If you're looking for excellent care for your pet, I would highly recommend Bolton Vet Hospital.

They were very good and professional. They have a large staff, vets. They are very reasonable in their prices. They love animals and they are very efficient. They are open 24 hours and they always have people there. I always felt comfortable there. I have used Dr. Pomper in most cases and he is one of the best. He seemed like he knew what he was doing with the animals. I have also tried other vets and they all seem capable. The office was clean and the staff was very nice. They were very helpful and everything seemed to be in line.

My greyhound gorged himself on another dog's food which did not agree with him and he ended up vomiting blood several times during the night. He did this very quietly so I didn't know until I saw the blood on the floor in the morning. I rushed him right over to them. They admitted him and administered an IV and a number of medications, did a blood workup, and watched him closely during the day. I went to visit him that evening after work and he seemed quite perky again. They let me bring him home, but not until they carefully went over everything I had to do to keep him getting well. He required special food - they provided some until I could get to the store. They gave me detailed written instructions on everything I had to do. The doctor even called the next day to follow with me to see how he was doing. Overall, it was a good experience and he is doing fine.

I had a 17-year old dog who began to have some serious health issues. The vet took time to evaluate not only his physical health, which was in decline, but also give information on his Alzheimer's condition. When we struggled with whether to put him to sleep or not, they helped us weigh the issues and evaluate his quality of life while letting us make the decision. They helped us through this difficult decision and in the end, made the dog comfortable through the end.

I have been going to this place for around 25 years. They have treated my dogs and cats. I have even had them do a couple surgeries for me on my cat in the past. I was very pleased with the results. They do have a 24 hour emergency service available, even on weekends. They do charge more for this service, but it s nice that it is available.

I have used this veterinarian many times before because my dog has done some odd things. They have always been very helpful over the phone and I like that they are open evenings and weekends. They have a full staff and can usually get us in right away.

I have 2 cats and 1 dog and I take them all to this veterinary hospital. Since July 1983, my animals have been seen by them. During my experiences, they are very punctual during the appointments. I only have to wait a few minutes in the waiting room and examination room. They have 10 or 11 veterinarians on staff and they are open on Saturday mornings. Upon the clinic closing for the weekend, they have an emergency clinic, which is open 24 hours a day including weekends and holidays. I appreciate the fact that I can call at anytime and have my pet questions answered.
