Landscaping, Lawn Service
They had the best price of all the people we had gotten to give us an estimate. They re-seeded our lawn and literally that night, we had a monsoon coming so rather than coming back to re-seed it, he was like, "Let's see how it comes out." That really didn't fit well with us.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! The service left us feeling cheated. The snow removal service was contracted for a small apartment complex. The work was unsatisfactory and not done in detail. For 2 small snow storms (1-inch and 4-inches), the company charged over $2,000. Approximately $900 was charged on over 10 times of salting in the general areas, not where the black ice forms the most. When asked for service corrections of service, the company was not receptive and did not make adjustments for better service in the next storm. When terminating contract due to unsatisfactory work, the company refused and threatened legal counsel. It seems like someone wants to make fast money without providing adequate service.

My usual snow removal contractor didn't show up after the last snow storm, so I called about a dozen contractors.  The only one to get back to me and actually come to my house and provide a quote was TJ from City Services.  He was very prompt, polite and professional.  He provided me with their rates and we discussed the details of his services.
However, before I hired TJ, my brother-in-law was told that we needed a snow removal contractor and he offered to do it for quite a bit less than City Services.  Even if my brother-in-law's rates were the same, of course I had to hire him since he's family.
But I was so impressed with TJ's responsiveness that although they do not charge for estimates, I insisted that he accept payment for his time.  So, although I did not hire City Services, I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future.

The company built several walls and a patio.  The original work looked good.  After a couple of years we started to notice the patio was becoming uneven.  We contacted them and they "sort of" fixed it.  Now after a few more years the walls are starting to fall.  I've talked to them both with phone calls which they did not return and in person on the street in the summer of 2012 and they never showed up to look at it.  That was several months ago. Also the plants that they chose for the very large planter were suppose to be dwarf plants and were not.  They soon over grew the front of the house.

They were hired to do our lawn and snow removal for a rental property we own. We have used them for two years. Over the course of two years they have constantly added on expenses for services we did not contract them for including $70 for acorn removal. They also are contracted to do the rental property snow removal and will more times then not "forget" to shovel the back walk even though they were contracted to do so.
