At the time of the estimate he assured me that there would be no problem stripping the existing finish off the floors. He never indicated that it would be anyone other than himself doing the work. When it came time to start he called and said that he was sending over two people to start the sanding and he would be over in about an hour. He never arrived and one of the sanders spent much of the time on his cell phone in the front yard. The crew left after applying the first coat of varnish on a floor that was not completely stripped of its finish. It took three more attempts to finally get all the stain off and finish the floor. My impression is that the owner subcontracts his work with very little oversight and not much attention to quality control.
Description of Work: The contract provided for sanding and applying three coats of varnish in two rooms with newly installed hardwood floors and stripping stain and refinishing another room and hallway.
