ICS Indoor Comfort Systems

His installation has cost me $4000 in repairs.  He damaged a custom window which had to be replaced.  He was unable to diagnose a recent problem with the system which was then diagnosed quickly by a different  repairman who then showed me why the installation was not according to specifications (right in the owner's manual).  I am in the process of seeing if I have any recourse at this time.

DN came out for a routine service call for our a/c (that cost much less than $630) with an apprentice. He found an some type of old humidifier attached to something and explained how it wasn't necessary and they could in fact be harmful, so we were glad he took it upon himself to do that. A few hours after he left, the house - mid-summer - started getting hotter and hotter - the a/c had something wrong. Dan came back that night, added freon, and said he'd be back first thing for a repair. The next day Dan came back alone and for six hours repaired what seemed to be a hole in some piping where air was escaping rapidly. As I said, the bill was over $600, and quite a shock, because the system was not broken before, but only after, it was serviced. Here comes restored faith in humanity. I could not write Dan a check for that amount at the time, and he said no problem. Imagine my surprise to have a message on my machine from Dan that Sunday, telling me that he had thought about it over the weekend and that there was NO CHARGE to my husband and me for the repair work that he had done. Now, I have had some people suggest that he or his apprentice inadvertently caused a hole while removing the old humidifier, and it was a case of a guilty conscience more than anything that caused him to negate the bill. But I know this - he's honest, he's hardworking, I will always use Dan and Indoor Comfort Systems and I have recommended him as well.
