I was referred to Kensington by my vet for surgery for my boy Chip for bladder stones. The doctors & staff are so wonderful, caring, kind & gentle. My vet ended up retiring so I quickly transferred my piggies to Kensington. Tremendous animal hospital!

They were very kind and very compassionate. I was calling around to find out the cost to euthanize my elderly dog. My dog had Cushing's disease, she had lost the use of her hind legs, and I didn't need a lot of test to determine that she was ready to go. However, a lot of places wanted to charge me for an exam before they would euthanize and gave me insane pries like $300. When I called Kensington Bird and Animal Vet, they were very kind and very considerate on the phone. They said they reserved the right to do an exam but it wasn't mandatory and that they would look at her when they came. They quoted a much lower price for the euthanasia itself. Even with getting her cremated and with returning of her ashes, it was much less, than the other places. I am going there next month to get my other dog's annual exam done. I got a family feel when I went to them; it didn't feel like a corporate affair, it felt like they were a couple of vets that went into business when they wanted to. When we walked in, they had a really nice receptionist. He was so funny and it was great. They were very warm and very welcoming.

The hospital has CERTIFIED avian vets, very rare outside of major cities! The avian vets are all excellent. They handled this bird and the others I've brought in over the years, with tenderness, patience and understanding which is very important when dealing with birds. They are very knowledgeable and compassionate. My cockatiel was stressed at the start of the exam, but giving the doctor kisses by the end. Two vets worked with him and both treated him with extreme kindness. The medicine dispensed was pleasant tasting - very important with birds and very effective. This is but one of many experiences with them over the last 12 years and all have been very positive. They are also one of the few vet hospitals that treat wildlife and do it for free!

It was a holiday week. They were fully booked but I was able to be seen that day. Pup would not let anyone throughly explain the area, so he had to be kept for the day and knocked out to have the area throughly cleaned. He is always happy to see the staff at KBAH and went with them willingly dispite his injury. I have been taking my birds to KBAH for 8 year so I knew my pup was in good hands.
