The work was wonderful and fabulous, they are hard working they did a beautiful job and I highly recommend him to others. Nick is spot on and very thoughtful to add ideas to the home. Were very satisfied with their job.

At the first heavy rain, it poured in our house, both in the main portion of the house and on the part where an addition with a flat roof was added. Nick's came back out twice and said they fixed it but the leaking continued and they said there was nothing more they could do. We then had to have another company come in, at a cost of $8,000, to fix the roof. They told us that Nick's had failed to install flashing, which was why it leaked, and said we needed the whole roof done over again at a cost of another $15,000 if we wanted the leaks to be guarenteed to stop. Instead we paid them $8,000 to try to fix it, which needless to say didn't work, and still whenever it rains heavy we run for the buckets. We were very stupid not to sue Nick's and would definitely never use them again.

The person who gave the estimate was polite, professional, courteous and punctual. The materials chosen were top shelf and the roof was 'ripped' to ensure a quality effort although a second layer was possible to place. The worked appeared to be done well and all was well for the 1st month and then the roof starting leaking with severe rain. Called Nick's and after several calls they came back and told me they could not see a problem and so did nothing. Then the roof started leaking anytime it rained and they returned to tell me there was nothing wrong! (But my roof is leaking NickJr.!!!). I call on occasion but have never gotten them to even try anything to solve the problem. Think twice about this company even if they give you the best price!!!

They give short notice and none on the day they were to come out, repeated phone calls for confirmation were unanswered. The workers were pleasant. There were two supervisors, one left half way through. The other laborers were Latino, hard working with no/little English. I was told they would put down tarps to protect my bushes. The tarps were very thin and came off when the first load of shingles hit them. I made them protect the front bushes better, but they knocked over my mail box and crushed a garden cart that I forgot to move in the back yard. Both "supervisors" stated that "we usually do more damage." They both stated that they usually ruin the foundation plantings and just pay the people for them. The two men who came to do the gutters were nice and did what appears to be a good job. On 5/30/2010 a vent pipe from the roof came loose - smashing the drain pipe in the basement that connected the washer and the shower with the outside drain. I did not know that this had happened until I found that my basement was flooded. I had to purchase a wet/dry vac to clean the floor and hire a plumber to fix the drain. The plumber, Rutolo Mechanical, Inc (203) 772-1563 found that it was the vent pipe from the roof and went into the attic, and replaced it for me with a PCV pipe. He stated that the metal vent pipe had come loose due to poor workmanship - they wrapped it in plastic and put tar on it. He stated that he would be willing to stand by his statement that it was the roofer's fault. The bill from the plumber was $428.10. The cost of the wet/dry vac and new mop I needed to clean up was $88.83. On 6/8/2010 I sent a notarized certified letter describing the damage along with the plumber's bill, the bill from Lowes and photos of the damage. On 6/15/2010 the letter was received by Nick's Roofing. I was left a phone message from Gary asking what the letter "was about." I left a return message that I felt the letter, plumber's bill and photos explained it and asked why Nick had not contacted me. I have received no further contact from Nick's Roofing. I do not expect to hear from them unless I contact my attorney.

It went well. They were organized and efficient. The job went without incident. They also did the siding and gutters on a house across the street that seemed to go well.

I was so happy to have found this contractor, as the last one I had actually took off half way through the job and left me in the lurch. This group came and finished the job properly and then gave me a discount on laying another layer of shingles over the existing shingles I had on the roof. They did an outstanding job and I would recommend them to anyone.
