Excellent! Price was reasonable and these people arrived when they said that they would. They worked quickly and efficiently and were finished ahead of schedule. Work was excellently done- they took great pains to make the floor as attractive as possible. They even cleaned up when finished and removed boxes/packaging. I can't praise them enough. In fact, I asked for referral information so that I could refer them to friends.

After selecting our new floor, we were able to get an installation estimate the next day. Rob & Tiffany were very punctual and professional. They were able to accommodate our schedule and had the work done in 2 1/2 days. The floors look amazing!

It went especially well. Tiffany is great to work with, and she may be one of the most organized contractors you'll meet. She knows exactly how much time a project will take, and how many projects they can handle. Scheduling was easy, even when we had to re-schedule due to another contractor not performing their tasks on time (a review for another time). The actual installation was amazing. I'm by no means an expert, but what I'm sure a lot of DIYers might neglect is to check the subflooring for creaks/noises. Tiffany and Bob did this, which is the sort of thing you really may not want or be able to do if you already laid the floor down. They were very clean with their work, leaving an absolute minimum of debris in the way, and were even able to work around and through other material left for other contractors. They took about 5 days to finish 1,800 square feet, but I'm sure they could have finished it even faster if necessary. The price was very reasonable, and definitely a great value for the quality of service provided. They do a lot of work through JBW Hardwood in Hartford, which I could recommend as a good alternative to other companies out there (Vinyl/Home Depot). The price for real hardwood through them was not that much more expensive installed than vinyl or "discount" hardwood. I'd recommend their company to anyone looking to get flooring done.

Quickly responded to phone call, came to condo and did estimate immediately. I bought 5and quot; wide maple flooring and Z-Best installed the next week. Easy to work with and craftsmanship was outstanding. HIGHLY recommend.

The 2 owners of the company, a young couple, were very responsive to look at the job and provide an estimate. They arrived promptly on the scheduled day and completed the work within the amount of time estimated, about a day and a half. We are very satisfied with the quality of the work that was done.

We had an event planned in our house in less than a week and we just learned that the contractor we had lined up to install hardwood floors in one of our rooms could not do the job. Using Angie's List I found Z-Best Wood Flooring, read the reviews and decided to see if they could do the job for us on such short notice. I called and left a message, explaining our predicament.
I received a phone call from Tiffany in less than 5 minutes. I explained what we needed done and that it needed to be completed in less than a week. I was given a price, which was less than what the other contractor had quoted, and that they could be there in 2 days. I was told they would be there first thing in the morning and that they would be done by lunch time.
As promised, Tiffany and Robert arrived at 8 AM, came in and assessed the room, asked some pertinent questions, provided some excellent advise and then got to work. They worked as a team, they were professional, respectful, cleaned up as they went and did an outstanding job. They finished up around noon, right on schedule.
We had planned on finishing the floor ourselves so they provided some excellent advise on the sanding and finishing process.
We had our event and the room looked spectacular, we got a lot of compliments on the floor.
I highly recommend Z-Best Wood Flooring. Tiffany and Robert did an excellent job, they were very professional and really helped us out on short notice when the other contractor couldn't do the job.

Robert and Tiffany, owners of Z-Best, are more like artisans than contractors. Robert is definitely a true craftsman, which is a rare find in this day and age--and especially for someone in his early 40s.

They are a unique couple, and if you're expecting them to pull up in a and quot;regulationand quot; contractor's pick up truck--think again. My neighbors were thoroughly entertained by the couple driving a late-model Hummer, who drove into the condominium parking lot with their trailer of equipment hitched behind it. They also brought sound equipment, which intrigued the neighbors, who thought I might be throwing a party instead of having new floors installed, but, hey, Z-Best likes to rock while they roll. I had no problem with it.

Tiffany, who is extremely organized and keeps things running on schedule, looks like she just stepped out of the pages of Vogue magazine, and as a former fashion editor I took that as an auspicious sign she would make sure my home looked fabulous when the project was completed.

The thing that struck me most about Robert and Tiffany is that they are problem solvers. They brought me solutions, calmly, when other prospective flooring contractors delivered histrionics and dire warnings. For example, two contractors I interviewed before calling Z-Best told me that I needed a and quot;glue downand quot; product because of my stair steps. They claimed a click-lock floating floor system would be impossible to install because of the stair steps.

Not true. Robert and Tiffany weren't the least bit daunted, and they offered me a couple of ideas for tackling the stairs. Now, the stairs alone were around $1,000, so it was not an inexpensive proposition. Still, they look great and I'm very happy with them. The strategy we adopted was to install wood risers (Tiffany's brother did that job, and he was awesome at it), and Tiffany stained the treads to match, almost exactly, the rest of the flooring. It's definitely an art to be able to mix the stain to match the rest of the floor so perfectly. I'm amazed it turned out so well.

These people are nothing short of perfectionists. They really and truly are.

Robert said that, overall, the job of installing the flooring in my condo unit wasn't as difficult as it was intricate. But that intricacy, he claims, is the type of challenge he thrives on. The condo is an older, unique space with lots of weird twists and turns--so he certainly had a lot of happy challenges.

Z-Best definitely had their work cut out for them with this job, but the end result is that it is gorgeous, and I'll be hiring them to do the upstairs in 2012. The owners of this company are extremely organized and buttoned-up--and their work is, well, Z-Best!

The overall experience was very pleasant. Tiffany and Robert are very experienced at this kind of work and are very professional; the same applies to the others on their small crew. Everything went exactly as they had said it would, and the job was complete right on time. Z-Best has worked out ways to solve sometimes difficult problems well and efficiently, and they have specialized tools and techniques to get the job done with high quality. Z-Best's owners, Tiffany and Robert, were present and working on the crew during the entire job; they don't just "sell" the work - they DO it, and with great attention to detail, too. The price mentioned is just for the installation work Z-Best did; it does NOT include the cost of the flooring or other materials.
