I just wanted to let you know that I will be filing a complaint
(not against Groupon but one of your vendors, Crystal Clean.
They are an air duct cleaning company. I called them
directly and they agreed to provide me service for $235 to clean all my air
ducts. It was my understanding from a recorded phone call that they would
remove all vents and clean them out.
When they came they then insistent they would not have to
remove all vents and were not going to do so. They removed probably 4-6 vents and used a machine
The price then increased to $289. Frustrated I called them
after the work was done (I was working late at work and my wife played
intermediary) and threaten to stop payment on the check because they did not do
what they were supposed to do.
Someone called me up next morning, I hung up on them, I really didn't want to talk to them. They
called back yelling and cursing at me telling me they were going to take me to
collection. (Which is absolutely fine they are free to take me to collection I
simply have pictures of dirty vents and a phone recording of the actual service
they promised they would provide that was not provided.)
The funny this is I really was not going to cancel the check.
After this individual threaten me and cursed me over the
phone (calling me twice) I quickly them placed a stop payment on the check.
I will be filing a report with the better business bureau.
I would urge you not to use this company.

I bought a coupon on a daily deal website for a whole house air duct cleaning package, which said it included "unlimited number of vents, 1 main line & 1 return duct for a single furnace". The price seemed incredible, which I guess should have tipped me off, but we're on a budget and wanted to have our ducts cleaned (we bought the house this summer and the previous owners had LOTS of pets), so we fell for it. What a waste of money! The guy showed up, looked at the furnace and counted the vents, and then asked me to sign a paper saying I wanted to pay him $400+ to clean my ducts. I said, "wait a second, if this is going to cost that much then what was this voucher I bought for???" He said that the voucher only covered vacuuming the vents, not actually cleaning anything in the system. I pointed out that my voucher stated "1 main line", and he claimed that "main line" meant replacing the furnace filter. I pointed out that right on his chart the main line was labeled as "main", but he said, "I've been doing this for nine years, I know what a main line is!" We were very frustrated, but while we wanted the whole system cleaned we didn't have the money to do it so we told him to just do whatever the coupon we had already paid for entailed. He wasn't even going to take the vent covers off, which made us ask what exactly he was going to do, and he said he was going to spray some anti-fungal into the vents. My husband said, "Look, if you're going to do it I want it done well so I'll just take the vent covers off!" Then the guy stuck a vacuum down some vents (some of them he said he couldn't do because of the way the vent was!) for a few minutes and then he was done. When asked about the spray he said he was going to do, he said that cost extra. He was a nice guy, but he was just SO CONFUSING and it was infuriating! He even charged us an extra $15 because we had an extra return. We felt completely cheated!
