I repeatedly asked for change orders as the project expanded but this contractor did not provide one, even though it is stipulated in his contract. When he finally provided it, after weeks of me asking for it, he submits it to me with no itemization of the costs...only a total of 68000. I have filed a complaint with BBB and his response is just fluff....never provided the list of costs. He claims 30000 in supplies even though I purchased 90 % of the materials and the items he did pay for I have received the price from the various vendors and it doesnt come close to that amount. He claims the job was 8 wks and 700 man hours....not even close. And then says 20 craftsman were involved...counting boys who carried countertops into the house doesn't count. And when the new contractors came in to finish the job because I wanted nothing to do with this contractor, they documented all the errors, including electrical work that would have caused at least a fire if not an explosion. If you still decide to use the comtractor, you better get an ITEMIZED COS t before any work is done. the next time I see this contractor, it will be in court to get my money back.
