Randy McBlair and I signed a contract that stated he would be done three weeks from May 14th,2013 .. Today is October 14th. 2013 . I finally fired him Sat the 12th of Oct. 2013. He is still not done. He started the basement remodel after I gave him half up front...$4400.00 as he requested. He framed it in...coming a couple of times a week..for a couple of hours each time. I asked him about getting a building inspection permit before we started...I said to him....I dont think its necessary ...what do you think? He said he didn't think it necessary..so I have none.....My fault for listening to him..I trusted him... He continued to show up a couple of days a week...finding excuses to leave . He hired Joe with Millennium Drywall, to do that portion..to which they did part of it..then rudely refused to finish.....He finally did come back last week, with a serious attitude.... Randy also hired Denis Rivera, electrician to do the electircal..telling me he was a master electrician. When we tried to hook up the heaters in the basement..they didn't work..the electircian blamed the drywaller who blamed the electrircian who then blamed Randy..and so goes...I have no heat in the basement. ..and we're still not done...and no permit. It's been a nightmare, emotionally and financially. Randy didn't have the money to pay his subs so I paid them , totaling $ 9,927.10, leaving Randy owing me a total of $1127.10 . He still continued to not show up...very part time..with no regard for our contract.....I had provided him a cad design..to which he didn't read...and had to move walls...and add extra cost to the drywall... Saturday the 12th of Oct. 2013... I finally said enough!. Now I'm left with a basement with no heat...electrical that was improperly installed...a rude drywaller who is threatening to take me to court...(for what) I paid him!. ..not to mention basement is still not done..Tom Martiniz where are you when I need you?
