REROOF AMERICA CONTRACTORS CO, LLC

Against my better judgment, I did not solicit bids from other contractors but went with the roofer recommended by my insurance agent, who was very pleased with the job this company had recently done on her own house. I did not haggle with them on the price either. I did check with the Better Business Bureau and the years of service within the community and they appeared to have excellent ratings, as well as having a record of service in the community going back a number of years. My initial impression was that this was a locally owned family business, which also appealed to me. I later learned that it is more like a national franchise, but it does appear that the people who manage it are local. I waited until the fall to have the job done so I would not have to worry about going through it all again in the event of another hail storm come through that summer. Once they started the job they finished it in very short order, and they always cleaned up after themselves at the end of the work day and when the job was finished. They did not ask for any money up front and only requested a partial payment upon completion of the job, allowing me time to collect the additional recoverable depreciation payments from the insurance company after all the invoices had been submitted. Also, when I pointed out a minor dent in a section of gutter that their workers had caused during the repairs, they immediately offered to replace it without any argument, which they did. My biggest concern is evidence of a leak that did not show up until December. It is in an area of the roof that is very difficult to examine from inside the attic, unless perhaps you have the agility of a gymnast. I was also afraid that there was a good possibility of punching a hole or two in the ceiling because the insulation concealed the ceiling studs and you could not tell where it was safe to step. Examining the roof from the outside, all they could find was a partially exposed shingle nail, which they caulked up. Before repairing the drywall on the inside, we waited until March to see if there was any evidence that the roof was still leaking or getting worse, which it did not appear to do. On the other hand, we have had one of the driest winters on record, which leaves me wondering if the problem has really been fixed. In March they repaired the dry wall on the ceiling, and only then did they asked for remainder due. That appears to have fixed things, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. I also believe they will fix it if anything does show up later. The labor warranty is good for one year, which they dated from the time of the last repair. On a personal level, they seemed to friendly and pleasant to deal with, although sometimes they were a little slow to respond, which is the main reason I give them a lower grade.

They came right out and did a good job. They cleaned up well and all of the contact with them was great. I could not be happier.

So far the project is going well. They should have the project completed on time. They are responsive to requests.
