"Thanks so much, it was our pleasure."
"Thanks so much [Member Name Removed], it was our pleasure helping you out."
He does not charge a trip charge; he charges the hourly rate of $75 per hour. We ended up paying $105 for excellent toilet installations. The quality of his work is excellent. He is friendly, pleasant and professional. He left his work areas clean. We will use his services again.
Thank you, Mike, for such a great experience!
We have not installed our gas range at this point as it is back ordered. Mike assured us we could contact him if there are any issues with the gas connection.
We are very pleased with this experience and would recommend and use him again.
Dusty arrived at the scheduled time and found a crack in the pipe. He also found that a joint on the pipe was never glued (this is the original house plumbing which has never been worked on). Dusty explained everything to us and also called a mold removal specialist for advice on how to get rid of the black mold on the concrete, carpet, and drywall. He replaced a section of the pipe and placed a sleeve over the hub of the pipe. He worked quickly, showing us what he would be doing. Now, no more leaks.
We were very impressed with Dusty, his honesty, and his willingness to answer questions. The cost of the work was extremely reasonable ($75/hr plus $13/supplies). We were expecting a major bill for the repair work. A few days later we received a check in the mail for the senior discount that Dusty had forgotten to credit us---a check for $8.80! How honest can you get!! I felt bad that we even got the discount considering how low the total price of the job was.
Only downside to all of this was that we had to wait a few days before they could come out to do the work, but they were worth the wait.
Will definitely be calling Greater Western when we have plumbing problems. We are SO impressed.
I had turned the water to the hot water heater off and drained it that morning, but it was still leaking that evening. The guys that had come out didn?t seem to be concerned about that and had just said it would finish draining before long. However, I was very concerned about it and finally did what I should have done that morning. I went to Angie?s List and found that Greater Western Plumbing had a hot water installation deal for $279.
The big box store called me Friday morning with an estimate, but I decided I would rather go with the deal I had found on Angie?s
List. I contacted Greater Western Pluming and explained the situation to Mike. Even though they already had a full day?s work scheduled, he managed to squeeze me in. We arranged that he would pick up the water heater from the store and install it that day.
He was at my house by about 12:30 and after some investigation found that the leak was from a pipe and not the water heater itself. He had already disconnected the water heater and offered to just hook it back up and fix the pipe to save me some money, but I declined as the water heater was due to be replaced. He said it would take about an hour extra to fix the leak and that would be an additional charge of $100.
It did take him a little longer than that to fix it because dumb me had forgotten that my house has stainless steel pipe. When I had kitchen work done awhile back, the contractor told me that I would have to have Bell Plumbing do the plumbing work because not very many people know how to work with it. So when Mike said he had never seen that kind of pipe, I remembered and told him the story and instead of telling me to call Bell Plumbing, he made a few phone calls for advice and then just fixed it. I offered to pay him for the extra half hour or so, but he was insistent that he stick with his original estimate. So all in all, it took about 3 hours to complete the work and I was a happy camper!
I will definitely call Greater Western Plumbing again. I was happy with their quick response, quality work, and Mike's energy, enthusiasm, integrity, and his willingness to venture into the world of stainless steel pipe. Because of the $279 deal, the cost was quite a bit less than the big box store estimate. However, that wasn't the primary reason I chose to go with Greater Western Plumbing. It was because I was impressed with Mike's eagerness to resolve the problem and provide good customer service, which just didn?t seem to be a priority with the guys who the big box store had sent out.
