The pool inspection went fine. He arrived on time, cleaned filters. since this is my first home with pool, I asked him about the pool maintenance. He answered all questions and was very helpful.

We knew that our pool system was not operating efficiently and we needed some advice on repairs and upgrades. We wanted to take advantage of the current pool pump rebates offered by the utility companies. We also had a broken timer that needed replacement, and one of the motors was leaking. Brian answered my huge list of questions, we discussed two different variable speed pump options, and he told me that Kerry would be e-mailing me a quote for all of the work. I promptly received a $1,200 quote from Kerry, but it didn't specify which pump it was for. After speaking to both Brain and Kerry, and asking for the specific model number that would be installed, I still didn't have the information I needed. I wanted to research that model number and see if it received good reviews online. I also needed the model info, so that I could compare apples to apples if I decided to get additional quotes. I ended up using a different pool contractor, which I found here on Angie's List.

The all points check went well.
The technician recommended $2,022 of repairs, including a variablespeed pump. I agreed; work was done and paid in full.
I also signed up for weekly pool servicing. Paid 5 weeks in advance ($106).
Provider serviced pool for two weeks and never returned. Phone calls have gone unanswered and voice messages unreturned. Three phone attempts have been made.

The work the tech did was great we have an Intex 22x52 round pool which is huge. The system that comes with it the 2500 fog cartridge system is inadequate, anyone who owns one will tell you the biggest problem is you can't vacuum the pool with that system . Living in Arizona the land of inground pools, it's almost impossible to find someone to work on an above ground never mind an Intex. We had a Pentaire Dynamo 1 hp pump and a sand dollar system installed. We're scheduled to have him cut the pool to install a thru the wall skimmer and dedicated vac line to run our auto vacuum. However he had to move out of state quickly for family emergency so that part of work not completed . Given circumstances cannot hold it against him he is mailing a refund of 175.00 since pd the full 300 for the total job. But the new system allows us to use a reg vacuum and we can get pool crystal clean saves us money on buying those cartridges and we don't have to run filter 12 hrs; four hrs will do a better job then 12 did with other. I would recommend them. I'm hoping they have another tech who can finish the job but I'm doubtful as tech had done job before. I will attempt to add photos.

It was okay, he was honest. He wasn't very complementary with our system, I guess that's just being honest but what he told us the pool needed a lot of work and we knew that already and he confirmed that and that's about as far as it went. I guess it was satisfactory. He was friendly, he was honest and straight forward, he told me we had a lot of work to do with the pool. It was a limited inspection but that's all I really called for that's all that I paid for. Pricing is fair. No, only because I have friends and relatives who were on the same business but they weren't available at that time so I probably would not.

It's a nightmare to use this company's service. At first they tried to
charge me a different price when I showed Angie's list coupon to fix the
pipe leaking. Then when I tried to use its weekly maintenance for every
Tuesday, the poolman (Brian) didn't show up until Friday! I was out of
town to travel to Europe and China and for a month and paid up front for
a month service; when I came back, it is a green stinky pool! I really
doubt how many times the poolman came in last month... Avoid it or you
will regret! (BTW the pipe is leaking again after a month)

"This customer decided to work directly with the service tech on the side after the initial service call bypassing Kerry's Pool Service. He worked a special deal with the service tech and paid him in cash. This review should not reflect on me at all."

OK. The results were not as good as I for but was told an acid wash would not remove calcium deposits. Had I known that in advance I would not gotten the service. The replacement of the broken tiles was okay.

Original scheduling was promptly accomplished, but provider didn't show up. Several phone calls to reschedule. Serviceman provided work advertised, but was not particularly helpful answering questions.

My primary reason for wanting to drain and acid wash my pool was some persistent yellow + black algae. The pool tech confirmed that acid washing would eliminate any algae. My biggest complaint, and reason for overall grade of "C," is that the algae returned, even before the water was very warm. So, I don't know if the tech gave me bad info, or didn't actually do the acid wash (I wasn't there for it), or what, but, in the end, the results were not satisfactory. Otherwise, everything else was OK (price was OK, tech was punctual and helpful, etc.)

Kerry's Pools is an experienced and professional company who reminds me of the contractors that my parents used to deal with in the Midwest. They were pleasing to deal with, punctual, and knowledgable about pools and how to best take care of the pool. I was traveling when they came out to assess the pool so my wife dealt with them initially. Most contractors can be condescending when dealing with spouses but Kerry's Pools was the exact opposite. We asked them their opinion about changing out the standard pool light to install a rotating LED color wheel which they helped us secure one and then offered to install it at a very reasonable price. We had some initial issues with the home automation remote control that ties to the pool light and they were also very knowledgable about that as well offering to fix it or recommend a replacement. As a result of this experience, we are going to use them for our weekly pool maintenence needs as well and I would HIGHLY recommend them for any/all of your pool & spa needs.

I purchased a DE Filter Clean from this individual. When he took apart the filter, he showed me some rips, tears and holes; and recommended replacement. He took a look at the pool and recommended changing the water. He returned the following day to start draining the pool, and said he would be back the next day at 9:00 am. He returned the next day at 2:00 pm without the courtesy of a phone call; I wasted the whole day waiting for him. He took a phone call while he was working, so I could see he had a phone. He said he would return in two days to vacuum and clean the pool before adding the startup chemicals, but he did not return. I called him a day later, and he returned the following day (4 days later rather than 2 days) and added the chemicals without vacuuming or cleaning the pool; it looked terrible. I don't believe I received credit for the original Angie's list voucher. I would not recommend this service provider.

Kerry's Pool Service gave her quite a discount on the repairs required and the draining of her pool it was a total savings of $235.97 also we did not charge any additional labor beyond what she paid Angie’s even though it required more work and additional visits. Average cost of the filter grids (from 2 large pool supply companies in Phoenix) $311.92 Our price to you as an Angie’s customer....................................................... $215.95 A savings of ............................................................................................. $ 95.97 Average cost of a pool drain (from 2 large pool service companies in Phoenix) $250.00 Our price to you as an Angie’s customer..................................................... $110.00 A savings of ............................................................................................. $140.00 I do realize that there was a delay of a couple of days in starting up your pool, (something that we normally don't do without an additional trip charge) the service tech did get sick with the flu and was down for 2 days. As far as vacuuming your pool the service tech did tell you he would do that since we do not carry pool cleaning equipment on our service trucks. He did install your vacuum on start up and this should of cleaned your pool. However if you would have called me I would have sent someone to vacuum your pool even though that was not part of our job. Your rating our service as an F was way over board considering what work you had done for the price you paid, which just goes to show not matter how much you do for some people there is no way to please them unless everything is free!"

They were very honest and straight-forward; they were efficient and got the job done quickly. There was not fooling around with the price. They were very good, smart and seemed to have good experience; they really knew their stuff. I would highly recommend them! I had no problem at all with them and I was surprised at how good they were!

The fist maintenance was great and on time.

"I was not providing any Monthly pool service in July 2012, as a matter of fact I quit doing any weekly and monthly pool services in October 2011 to concentrate totally on repair work only. Somehow I think this customer has me confused with someone else."

Work done was exceptional and actually quite esthetically pleasing. Not easy to do with plumbing! Anyway, extremely satisfied with the work and price. Highly recommend this professional.
