He was a little bit late, but not too bad. He diagnosed the problem fairly quickly and had it fixed within 20 minutes. He also looked at my dryer and replaced the fuse. It now heats like it did when it was new. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely recommend and hire again.

Also, got a very quick appointment, would probably have been next day service but for the Fourth of July holiday weekend

We were able to get a weekend appointment for the work to be done, which was wonderful since we didn't have to take time off of work. They showed up on time and the repairs were done very quickly and professionally. The cost for both replacement parts and the labor was very reasonable and the new ice maker is working great. We would definitely recommend this company to anyone who needs appliance repairs done!

Rod replaced the two broken tension springs on the door, and the chipped and nicked gasket around the tub of the washer. Thinking the gasket was probably the problem, we ran a rinse cycle but the dishwasher continued to leak. After taking off the front of the dishwasher, Rod decided that it was probably the vent in the door. But being somewhat unfamiliar with LG dishwashers, wasn't quite sure what to do. After trying several jerry-rigged possibilities and working with my husband for 1 1/2 hours, the dishwasher still leaked. I got online afterwards and looked for LG dishwashers with the same problem. Found that it could be a blocked tube that ran from the vent to the bottom of the dishwasher. Cleaned out the tube and the problem is fixed. No more leak. We informed Rod of the solution to the problem for his future reference.

Rod came out and gave us a clear, honest appraisal of the situation. No BS, no confusing technical jargon, no upselling. He gave us the options; get the expensive replacement parts, or get a new frig. His opinion was get a new frig, which meant less income for him. He is now our go-to man for any appliance repair.

Had Angie's List coupon for diagnosis for $65.00. Used it and was advised that the compressor had gone out and the repair cost was high enough to buy a new refrigerator. Was given names of several new models that were well worth buying. I appreciate his honesty.

My refrigerator had been loud and making noise for some time.  I called By Choice because of their good reviews.  I was afraid I'd have to spend $1500+ for a new refrigerator as mine is 10 years old.  Thankfully I didn't have to.  Rod came out promptly and diagnosed the problem as a bad fan.  He had the part with him and replaced it quickly.  Problem solved.  Now I can't hear my refrigerator running at all.  Saved me a bunch of money.  Very professional, reasonably priced, fast and friendly.  I will definitely use By Choice Appliance again and recommend them to my friends.

Rod was arrived about 5 minutes early on the scheduled date. He had the parts necessary to repair the washer and completed the work within a very short time. The area of work was left very clean. He explained the work done in a clear and careful manner. Subsequent to his completion of the work on the washer I asked him about a problem that had occurred with our refrigerator some months ago. He outlined the possible causes. After some discussion we decided to replace an electrical relay that was the likely culprit. In general my wife and I are very pleased with his work, professionalism and friendliness. We certainly recommend him and his company.

I called their office around 1:30PM.  By 2:00PM, Rod called me on the phone and spent some time with me diagnosing possible causes on the refrigerator.  We decided it could be a defective fan or just a frozen fan.  Rod said he could come over around 4PM.  
At 3:30PM he called and said he was on his way, 10 minutes later he was in my kitchen.  Rod was very friendly and knowledgeable.  He explained what the problem was, how to solve it, and how to prevent it from happening in the future.  The fan had stopped working because its housing had filled with water.  This was caused by a clogged drainage tube.
I had called 4 other repair services before calling By Choice.  All of them wanted $100 to come out to the house and none of them would come out the same day.  By Choice charged $65 for the house call and was in my house 2 hours after making the call.
What I liked about dealing with this company was:  1) They were on time (seems like nobody can be on time anymore)  2) They were very professional   3) They gave me personal attention.  The price was fair and i feel like I got my money's worth in knowledge and advice from Rod.
