On the 2nd of December I answered this [*** Link removed ***] craigslist posting for firewood
Anthony returned my call I placed a order for 6 cords at $170 per cord for a total of $1110 for delivery today the 8th yesterday I received a confirmation call for delivery at 8 am here in Leadville co then he said something about 5 ft x 8 ft 2 rows I gave it no mind I had a firewood business in Idaho The firewood arrived at about 8:15 this morning the first thing Anthony's son says to me was it was 6 and 1/2 cords at 185 a cord I told him his father quoted me $1110 at delivery he then placed a call to his dad in the truck and came back with the response his father didn't answer and he had made that kind of deal before so he would honor it when he saw me holding a tape measure he told me that these were not 128 cubic square foot cords that the rounds needed to be cut at 2 feet for that to be possible I measured the load on his truck 7 feet tall 8 feet wide 11feet long for a total 618 csqft divided by 128 in a cord equals 4.8 cords not 6 1/2
I accepted the load for $1110 because i needed it badly and it was here I will never order wood from them again and if i ever order wood from anyone else I will make sure in the beginning they understand what a cord is4'x4'x8'stacked !!
actual price is $231.25 a cord NOT $170 AND NOT THE $185 i WAS TOLD ON ARRIVAL !!
how would like to find out you are only getting 3/4 of a gallon at the gas pump?

Anthony from Gonzales fire wood is awesome. Always is cheerful on the phone, his guys do a great job delivering the wood and the price is always fair. Good dried and seasoned firewood. I always argue with them about how they calculate the size of a cord, but everybody seems to do it the same way... and it's always fair. Fair to me and fair to them. One thing that I especially like is that they are consistent and always cheerful. Who wants to buy from a grouch anyway? If it's a nasty day out or especially cold we always offer a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate and we always give the guys a tip. We are lucky to have a good and consistent provider for firewood. -charlie in Steamboat.

From the first time I spoke to them they were very helpful with my hunt for firewood. My husband had called a company in Aug and reserved the wood, but he couldn't remember the name of the company....Yes...it was Gonzales that he called and we were on the top of the list for delivery I was told....AWESOME...He called a week later as promised to schedule delivery for the next day...I asked for a call when they were on their way and I even got that!!!! They showed up....unloaded the wood right where I wanted it....piled it perfect and even cleaned up their mess. These guys were great....give them a call....they will take good care of you.

Anthony drove a good distance to get to us, we are remote, and was very timely. The wood is excellent. We purchased two cords and he is coming back to clean our chimney. His prices are very reasonable. We look forward to working with him in the future.
