Although the primary work we contracted through them was completed, this company's attention to detail, customer service and follow-through was not satisfactory. Damage done by employees during work was not fixed - in one case I was told that if I bought the materials, they would not charge for the labor to fix and in another they claimed the damage was pre-existing and would charge to fix. In addition, some aspects of the work was not done as I was led to believe during the process of getting the estimate (although they gave themselves an out in the contract), and where they were to match the home's existing millwork they did not. The one positive thing I can say about my experience with this company is that approximately three months after initial installation, they did return to fix gaps that formed between the short-ends of the planks per the 1-year workmanship warranty. Although it was in doing work during this visit that a plank was damaged but they ultimately refused to fix because (after the fact) they claimed it was damaged prior to them arriving.

The provider required 60% down payment upfront. Then 85% payment after cupboards were torn out and new ones put in, but before counter tops and all other finishing work was done. Paying this much money up front was my first mistake. I picked out granite counter tops, sinks, corbels, faucet by July 11th. I was told by Vince Mattorano that the granite would be installed week of July 21st. Then I was told it would be installed week of August 5th. Then I was told it would be installed September 2nd. At that point, I emailed Vince and asked for the name of the granite installer so I could verify that he actually lined someone up. He emailed this to me:

He had also yelled at me on the phone prior to this telling me I had and quot;failed as a customer.and quot; When we talked on the phone he told me that actually the fabricator would no longer do business with Vince because of all the delays I had caused. Huh?? I finally hired a lawyer to see if I could get some of my money back. As part of the legal steps, Vince was supposed to provide a cost estimate of all the items on the contract, including the items he had not done. Vince grossly inflated the items he marked as and quot;work completed but not chargedand quot; and grossly deflated the and quot;work charged but not completed.and quot; For example, in the contract, Vince said he would purchase and install 30 square feet of back splash. In his estimate to my lawyer he said that would cost $225. That averages to $7.50 per square foot. The going rate for back splash is between $20-$45 a square foot. But Vince does it for $7.50. Yeah, right. Vince also said that to install 9 corbels that cost $350. That is $60 per corbel. Keep in mind I actually purchased the corbels and painted them -- because Vince said the ones I told him I wanted were on back order. They weren't. I called Home Depot -- they were not on back order. Vince actually told me lawyer that if I paid him $16 he would give me my sink back that I had paid several hundred dollars for. To his credit, after the last letter that my lawyer sent to Vince, he did deliver my sink to me without charging an extra $16. I could go on and on about how this contractor is not a good one to hire. I paid $37,000 for cupboards and a couple torn out walls for a pantry and new canned light fixtures. Yes, that is right! $37,000! Do NOT hire this company. If they treat you like they treated me, they will take your money, yell at you, and then not do the work.
