Was chatty and price was outrageous. Would never use him again.

John was contracted to build a metal shed that we had delivered by Home Depot to our house occupied by Tenants. He quoted $600.00 and we would have to provide extra for supplies. He started 10/2009 when the shed was delivered. We sent him the money for supplies. He seemed nice and knowledgeable, but soon excuses started for why he couldn't get there to work on the shed. When it became apparent he was in trouble with the assembly it was already past Christmas and we were looking at the 90 day warranty that Home Depot gives coming up to the end quickly. Our tenants told us that John pretty much threw aside the directions and was forcing pieces together in ways they shouldn't go. Finally, with only days to go to the end of the warranty period, we fired John and our tenant told us HE would assemble it, and gave us a list of parts we needed to get from Home Depot because they were unusable, either because they had been bent or otherwise messed up. The Tenant had to completely disassemble the portions of the shed that John had put together to be able to start from scratch, lay out the pieces and follow the manual. In very cold weather the tenant  put it together and it is an outstanding shed.

I do think John MEANT well, but building the shed was simply beyond him. I told John I would put a report on Angies List as that is where we had found him, but I agonized over it for quite some time. The bottom line is, John may be very capable of many things in many ways, I just don't think anyone else should ever hire him to build their metal shed!

From the second he knocked on the door John was professional and personable.  He installed the blinds while we discussed several other items I need done, then I left him to it.  Those blinds had been sitting in my house for 6 months, and he had them installed and working in 1 hour.  Angieslist is a life saver for having professionals like John Boyle listed in their directory.  I have scheduled more work with John at the end of August, and know that I will receive fast, dependable, professional and excellent workmanship when he is done.  Thanks John, and Angieslist!

I called John and he answered the phone right away. He was very cordial and helpful and we set up an appointment. He worked around my schedule, as I work the graveyard shift and have limited availability. He arrived on time when he came out to perform a free estimate, and then he came back a few days later to replace my kitchen faucet. John was really good about teaching me and explaining while he performed the repairs, which I really appreciated. Upon looking at a broken Moen faucet in my upstairs bathroom, he offered to contact Moen directly because he believed there might be a lifetime warranty - this may save me the cost of having to buy a new one. I plan on calling him again when I have other work done I need around the house, and I would definitely recommend him to others.

On time, clean, friendly, loved our pets. On price.
