My bathroom was very old, moldy. DCR came in and gutted the whole bathroom. DCR replaced all the
plumbing. We decided to go with a tub insert and have DCR tile around for the tub/shower area. It looks great. DCR also replaced the flooring and the vanities. They painted the walls. And they put up new bath accessories. I can not tell you what a great experience it was working with Joe and his crew. (I was a little nervous after reading the other review but I asked Joe about it and he explained the review, itLast winter we had a fire caused by a wood burning stove and had to have the entire roof replaced and the upper living quarters remodled due to fire damage. We asked a few people for a good general contractor in the area because we wanted to keep the work local and help out a local contractor due to a bad economy. After meeting with Joe Armstrong/DCR Construction we decided to hire him for the project. What a HUGE mistake this was.
On the day the work began Mr. Armstrong decided to take a vacation to Texas and he sent what he called "his crew" to the house and thats when the nightmare began. This "crew" did not speak any english and they began ripping the house apart while their boss was drinking margaritas in Tx or something of that nature. To make a very long story short.... we lost a perfectly good solid oak kitchen and about $36,000.00 not includng costs associated with repairing the new roof which was installed aginst building code, aginst the approved prints and 6" out of square by his friend/associate Andy Picking not to mention that it looked like a 3rd grader did the framing which mostly had to be re done.
After Joe Armstrong/DCR builders was fired from the project he started threatening law suits and leins and garneshments if he was not paid the amount he demanded. Attorneys were consulted and it was decided that it was not worth going to court over because only the attorneys would have anything to gain . He was paid the amount he demanded.
This contractor lied and cheated and mis-led with absolutly no remorse for the attrocities he committed and I want to warn every potential client of Joe Armstrong/ DCR Contractors to absolutly DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PERSON!!!!!!!!!
If anyone would like to contact me for references please feel free do so.
