I met with the owner and he apparently knew a lot about floors and refinishing/sanding wood floors along with the stain I wanted to use. We scheduled a time for my floor to be sanded and because of an emergency with one of their workers a later time had to be scheduled--now just a few weeks before Chirstmas. All went well, though of course not the owner but one of his workers and his wife actually did the job. It looked beautiful...at first. But as the days went by I began to notice that the stain was darker closer to the counters and next to the walls, and a few darker spots showed up in the middle of the floor. As time went by this began to be more and more noticable. (Since this entire process takes a whole week of not being able to use the kitchen, I hesitated until the stain problem began to agrivate me to the point of unease.) I called to exprss my concerns and Mark, the owner, quickly came to my house to see what I was talking about and was in agreement that the floor had to be redone. So once again we were unable to use the kitchen (refrigerator moved to the dinning room) for a week. The floor still does not look like I would like it to-- an even and consistant stain over the entire floor. There is still a darker rim next to the walls and cabinets but now the rim is wider and I can put a floor runner over the point of veriation so it does not agrivate me. Perhaps if I simply had a clear varnish put on the floor this problem would not have occurred. There was no problem with the company owner in having the floor redone, no extra cost involved, and everything was very professionally handled. However, I will do a little more research when I am in need of this service again.
