Steel City Hardwood Floor Co Inc.

Steel city came out and replaced carpet for us and put in a laminate flooring. The flooring doesn't seem to have held up over time. We have huge gaps in the floor in between planks. We asked the owner to come inspect the floor and when he showed up he just kicked the floor planks back together like it fixed the problem. Like I have time to check to see if the planks are sticking together all the time. My daughter tripped in one of the 2 in gaps just a few days ago. Its only a matter of time before one of the kids hurts themselves. The installers with the exception of the older lady didn't know what they were doing. We had to direct them about not placing all the boards in a straight line in our dining room. They also decided to use patch work pieces of the padding in spots which had lead to the floor creaking and making noise. They did not finish the job and we had to call them back multiple times to finish the molding and trim pieces. It was overall a terrible experience. If you have questions or want pictures of the shoddy workmanship please feel free to message me. Mike i gave you multiple chances to fix the problem and you still haven't followed through. I will constantly tell people how p*** poor you run your business and to go else where. Check out the google reviews for more 1 star reviews.

The job went overall very good. They came out promptly when they said they would which a lot of people don't. Everything was done on time and everything.

He arrives when he says he will, does exactly what he says he will do, stuck to the estimate and has been flexible. We have since had a flood and he is helping us out again. He is currently measuring the water content of the wood so it's not refinished too early before he does anything. He's really protecting us and making sure that the refinishing is done correctly the first time instead of causing more headaches down the road.

We chose the pre-finished hardwood, Mike called and asked if they could start the job 2 days earlier than scheduled, we were thrilled the sooner the bettter for us. The installers Chris and Anne showed up on time everyday, they were neat, professional, courteous and completed the job on time. There was some dust from the demolition but it was minimul and Chris and Anne cleaned up most of it. We found a damaged board after they finished and they came out the day we called and replaced it. I would highly recommend Steel City Hardwoods to anyone who wants hardwood floors installed, they are not the least expensive but they are top quality.
