O'Hara Brothers Roofing

I hired Kevin in February to repair a leaking roof. After a snow in March, the leaking was even worse then before. I asked him to come back and look at it. He said he would come at 2:30 and got here at 5:00. He looked at the roof and started rambling about a recent job and how he was having difficulty with the insurance. This has absolutely nothing to do with my situation. I paid him in cash. He told me he had to basically undo the job and find the leak. That is what I paid him to do originally. He said he would redo the job and not charge for the labor. But he had so much trouble staying on the subject when I talked to him, I was very concerned about having him continue to work for me. Kevin seems like a nice man and seemed to know what he was doing. But now I am not so sure. I am going to find a different roofer. I should have paid attention to all the negative reviews on Google and Yelp.

I really appreciated the frequent updates and communication. They came the day I put the request online and explained, in detail, what the problem was and how they would fix it. I was a little hesitant to hire them because I read some unflattering reviews on Google. But I am glad I gave them a chance. I am very happy with the job they did.

Kevin was extremely nice and pleasant to work with! The only thing was my solar pathway light got broken while they were working.

Kevin went above and beyond to finish our roof repairs despite Cold temperatures and falling snow. He did a great job, and clearly knew what he was doing. Iâ ll definitely call him again for future Roofing needs.

Left a big mess of coating in the street. Did not show up to work on the roof until Four to Four Thirty PM, it is dark by Five Thirty PM. I do not know yet if they missed any spots. I do not know how they could see in the dark to do a complete job.

What a great team of Kevin and his right hand man. They detected the leak very quickly, went to get parts, came back and finished in just a few hours. They were very concerned for ME and my home and they wanted to make everything right. They did not break any tiles as they worked and left no garbage on my lawn, took time to talk and for me to check it out. I was so shocked when he gave me his bid/quote. It was too small so I added on $50.00. I had another roofer few months ago and his bid was sky high. I would encourage Kevin to ask for a little more $$$. He has to get the materials needed plus gas: to and from the work place as well as going to get materials. I have the highest praise and thanks for such a good job. He even came back the next day to put another layer of material above the material he already laid down...wanted to make sure it did not leak. I am thankful. So thankful. What a wonderful team of Kevin and his right hand man. So easy to work with. Frank

They did the job that was agreed on and at the price that was quoted.

Kevin never installed the smoke detector or carbon monoxide monitor. A family member did. Kevin purchased them after we paid him upfront. He never finished the job and part of the roof was left exposed. And he did not show up on several warm days. Supposedly his truck and trailer were impounded. When he did show up the quality was poor. And he did not provide a copy of a roofing permit as promised or receipts as promised. And the overall job looks like a child did it. And now we have to hire another roofing company to fix his unfinished work.

I was promised to have the job done in 4 days or less.. It took 32 days from the time they cashed 50 percent down. They would not return calls and texts and did not show up for 8 days. And some days when they did show up they worked for a couple of hours. There was debris and liquor containers all over our yard And the metal trim under the edge of the roof looked like a kid did it.

Pleasant to work with, very conscientious, guarantee their work.

Was very kind upon initial estimate and conversation. Unfortunately, upon arriving at my home the morning the work was to be completed he asked for supply money up front because his credit cards were all maxed out. This was after he said he would arrive with all required materials. Very unprofessional and made me feel very uncomfortable. Then he said he would find the money and left. The whole thing made me feel so uncomfortable I called and cancelled the work with this company.

The O’Hara brothers did a great job and resolved my roof leak. I also appreciated the before and after photos which was unexpected but a nice touch. Very easy to work with and would use again in the future should the need arise.

Knowledgeable, experienced people with good quality work and good troubleshooter. Probably just a little overcommitted.

We have a building in Crowley Colorado which is on the National Historical Registry. We have used O'Hara Brothers Roofing for repairs a couple of times. We are always impressed with their professional demeanor and friendly informative explanations of what needs to be done. They take before and after photos of their work. This company gives us a free inspection once a year because of the age of our building and its special place in our community. In addition, we have used this company for residences in the past which are complete installation of the shingle type roofs. We recommend them without reservation.

We had a leak that went into our bedroom. We believed it was from hail damage on the roof. We put in a claim. They said they would only fix the roof. We hired Ohara Brothers through HomeAdvisor. Kevin came out and found enough damage to get the roof replaced. We hired them in November 2019. Kevin said he would be on site for the work. It snowed. We thought **this should not be done until Spring**. They said it was okay to do it now. We waited until the snow had cleared. They kept pushing for a time to get it done. December came and the roof was clear enough but it was very cold. They set a start date. We met at a 7 Eleven for payment. It is sketchy that they do not have an office. I had to ask if they were getting a permit. Once I asked, they immediately put in. I am not sure they would have otherwise. The crew showed up. They got their car stuck in our driveway and we had to pull them out. They got to the first inspection and failed. They had not checked the codes in the area. They did what needed to be done to pass and moved on. There was roofing material everywhere., and snow everywhere. They said they could not clean it up until Spring. Kevin only show up for the inspection. On the edge of the roof, they did a terrible job of putting on a galvanized flashing. The corners were poorly done. And they did not ask if I wanted a colored flashing, which is available, they just put on the cheapest possible. So, the shingles are put on in 32-degree weather. They are all warped. The inspector comes out and fails them. He is disgusted by the lack of professionalism. He is abhorred by the mess that they have left and the language that is used towards him. He suggested I write a review to warn others. He told Kevin he needed to do something to get the shingles to lay flat. The next day Ohara Brothers are pressuring me to pay them for their work stating that they are a family business and have completed the job. I told them I would not pay them until they passed the inspection. Kevin assured me they did everything that the shingle guidelines stated. I asked for the shingle company. I looked up the guidelines and it stated that a special glue needed to be used if applying the shingles in cold weather. Had said they followed the guidelines? NO! They told me they would pass inspection and if they did not they had a $1 million insurance coverage. Of course, I would have to sue to get that. They came back a few days later and Kevin had a propane tank with a blow torch on it. The inspector had jokingly suggested it as a method to flatten the shingles. He never thought someone would actually do that as it can completely compromise the shingles. A new inspector came out and passed the roof. He asked if the heat had been applied to the roof and was told, No. When Spring came our dining room window flooded with water and seeped into the basement. The roofers had allowed flashing to slant into the build and further compromised it. I am writing this review over a year later because we get sick every time we think about the horrible job that so much money was paid for. If I had to do it again I would not go by reviews on home advisor. I would research for larger more professional companies. It would be nice if home advisor had a rank for the size of a company so you know if you are hiring a handyman or a professional. This is your home. Your investment. You deserve the job be done well with a professional attitude. Not cheap and on the fly.

Everything was great and quick but i need an invoice for work done so we can close on our house.

Called and was at my house within 2 hours. Surveyed the damage and went to get the shingles I needed. Job was complete in less than 2 hours. Total professional job! Couldn’t be happier with the way the job turned out and with the price!

The company operates as a general contractor covering a wide part of Colorado. It is based in Colorado Springs. The work crews come from several areas of the state(at that time not from the Denver area). The company had many problems during this job caused by a road accident on I-25. Delayed the job several weeks. The owner, however, is one of the most knowledgeable I have encountered and had the best design for my issue of redoing the roofing under the two swamp coolers that were inappropriately done by the roofing company after one of the many storms. Technically this is a great company. The execution had the management problems I describe. If these problems have been solved I certainly recommend them.

Did not come when scheduled, never got an invoice, got calking on our newly painted gutters, left dirty rags in the front yard.

Kevin is a skylight specialist. He's a skilled craftsman. He fixed our skylight and the next day was a thunderstorm and everything was dry.

Kevin is great. Did a great job and was reasonably priced.
